Compatibility, an 8 Bit Musical represents the merging of two of my passions, musical theater and geek culture. The story is about Mary, a wannabe sci-fi writer stuck working in a electronics repair store with a duo of crazy characters. There's Jenny, whose obsessed with become an internet video meme, and Fitzwilliam whose long hours of adventure RPG playing have trapped his mind into speaking a third-first-person faux Shakespearean dialect. When Chris, a sci-fi writer who Mary can't stand due to his sloppy science writing, leaves his laptop to be repaired, she decides to make a few changes. Her newly revised version becomes an overnight sensation and the two must learn how to work together. The show is filled with more than a dozen original songs with a classic 8 bit musical style similar to Nintendo video game soundtracks.
