I hadn't heard of most of these but I got a handheld version of the R-Zone as a gift. I played it for about half an hour then it got put in a drawer and I went back to the Zelda games o Pokémon or whatever I was playing on my Game Boy at the time.
it IS NOT matching sales. PS4 has NOT been released in Japan number 1. Number 2. Day 1 sales = if we avg sales roughly 76000 in the USA for xbone. Sony 1 MILLION in the USA..... Still not sure what day 1 sales world wide (minus japan) are... Also as noted by MANY places. I can find an xbone easy(Hell I could have bought 6 of em today, at NOON!!!). PS4, good luck sold out EVERY WHERE I have looked. If they are winning its by scewing numbers......
The Acan did leave taiwan, but your right... Really didn't go anywhere. 12 games known.....
Atari 5200.... Yea, such a great system.... LOLz
Now I don't disagree with all your choices, after all they are YOUR choices, but, do a little more research, cause honestly many of your reasons had me floored and not cause they were good or accurate .....
I also can't believe the Xbone is matching the PS4. Are people blind? Microsoft is straight up ripping people off in every way possible with this monster. Also just because they doubled back on all those policies doesn't mean they won't try to bring them back when our backs are turned. Don't trust the Xbone and get a PS4 or even a Wii U. ANYTHING is better than supporting the business practices Microsoft is pushing with this thing.
I retract what I said Paradise. I must of glanced elsewhere when you showed the picture of what you mentioned, and then caught back afterwards and thought you were referring to the computer.
hmmm good video, but the only thing i have to say is the amstrad gx4000, it is basicaly like the c64 console. it was a 10year old amstrad cpc with scraped computer part made to compete with the snes and genesis.... it it wasnt even a 8bit but more like 4/6bit console...it was on cartridge but the original computer had a cartridge port....and a floppy disk port so you could copy games and have them mutch cheaper...(note it was using same flopies as the famicom disk system but with different software).
you misunderstand. the c64gs DOESN'T play regular C64 games. rather, it uses it's own proprietary cartridge. It just so happens that 95% of it's games are ports of uninspired c64 games price gouged to ludicrous margins.
Dude... The games on the Commodore 64 were not that bad. The flight simulators were pretty good with f-19 and f-117a. then there was Last Ninja, shoguns, Silent Service, quite a few of the Ultima series games, Zak McKracken and the Alien Mindbenders (the other Lucas arts graphic adventure that was after maniac mansion), and quite a few more. Sure it was pretty pricy at 600 bucks when it was released, but it was also a computer. It also sold around 12.5 million, and overall in 1985 (which puts it prior to Genesis and snes btw) is actually fairly good. So overall I disagree that it was a bad idea. The Commodore 128 though would be (although was backwards compatible with the C64 (Go 64))
I actually am surprised at number 10. You do realize that the original xbox was supposed to be the entertainment hub of the home, bill gates even said so in his speech before revealing the xbox. So if that's a bad idea then you need to lump the 360 and the ps3 in that number as well since Sony took all the entertainment ideas. Heck, I'm watching netflix on my ps3 now and I can gaur tee I played more games than most g1's.
It's funny I fell for a lot of the bullcrap commercials that promised awesome gaming and realistic graphics, the problem was it never worked on looked as advertised, after awhile I just gave up, though I did get a GBA,DS,PSP,I'm still wary of the vita, and just recently started looking for a 3DS XL, I also think mobile games could be a threat if they could get a decent controller say the one say by apple and paired up with say a A7 powered apple TV.
OMG the R-Zone again... that thing always comes to mind when you think about bad ideas xD
@the N-Gage: i had one... it wasn't bad at all. it's problem was that almost no publisher supported it :(
i mean look at that thing, it had WAAAY better graphics than the GBA, it had some cool PS1 ports like THPS and Pandemonium and it also had some easy to install emulators for MegaDrive, GameBoy and some other consoles.
it really had only 2 problems. #1, the Buttons were not really ideal for gaming and #2 changing game-cards was a pain on the original... with the N-Gage QD they fixed problem #1 to some degree and fixed #2 completely as it had the Slot now on the bottom of the system.
it is a shame it got such bad support from publishers, i guess the problem was that pirating games was even easier than on the Dreamcast and the GBA was just toooo big to compete with.
but i loved it because i could freakin play Tony Hawk's Pro Skater in PS1 quality on the go... back then that was HUUUGE for me... Pandemonium was also amazing on it and it had a really great exclusive FPS called "Ashen".
it also had a solid port of Crash Nitro Kart and ya... like i said, i loved it.
