yeah i am, i'm investing in a SM58 in august but until then the audio is going to be straight from the camera, sorry

No worries its doesn't sound bad with just camera audio! Shure mics are solid truck horses and I know alot of people who swear by them. Have you ever thought of going with a condenser mic instead of a dynamic mic?

yeah the Shure SM58 is industry standard! Thought about a condenser however I am looking for an all rounder and while the crispness of the mid-highs on a condenser is unparalleled, the versatility of the dynamic is much more helpful for the variety of recording I need to do
