The Best EVER: Power Up

Infinate launcher in RE4. you struggle to get enough money for this ultimate weapon and once you get it, those Spanish zombie-monster guys are toasted. With one shot almost anything will die, Ganados, Garradors, Dr Salvador even those Iron Maidens.

Retro: Metal Man's Metal Blades, we all know the reasons why this is great. You can throw it in 8 directions, it consumes a retardedly low amount of power, and it my knowledge is the only power up in the history of the Mega Man franchise that you can use it against the boss you got it from (Metal Man) for a one hit KO. Brilliant.

Current: The Devil Trigger. You originally get this powerup once you get the sword known as Alastair in the original Devil May Cry, but then it became a standard powerup in the rest of the franchise's releases. Your speed, attack, and jumps all increase AND you get your health back for as long as it is active. Also, if you're play any version of Marvel vs Capcom 3 and you turn on the Devil Trigger it behaves the same way and if you tap out it stays on when you use Dante's assist (same with Vergil).

Most recently I've been appreciating the rings from Legend of Zelda. I hated the fact that I had to grind the whole 250 rupees to get the blue one and when I tried gambling that money I lost it all (I really don't know how to quit when I'm ahead) but if I hadn't gotten it I probably would not have been able to get through the 5th dungeon or the others after.

Favorite ever, however, would have to the the 1-up shroom. Why? Because I simply suck at the classic Mario games but I always seem to make it to the one 1-up and then die immediately after so it's allowed me to try infinitely until I succeed.

Metal Blade. I mean, c'mon. Who doesn't love the metal blade?

The Metal Blade from Mega Man 2. You can spam it in 8 different directions, it's extremely powerful against enemies, good in general against most of the bosses, and ironically enough it's even good against Metal Man himself!

I played the reproduction cart of The Wily Wars 2 weeks ago, and I brought the Metal Blade to all of the stages in the Wily Tower. Out of 22 weapons, it was the only one that really stood out.

Isn't storm call technically an ability instead of a power-up? Yoshi counts as he becomes attached to Mario and alters his abilities instead of being a set of them in itself.

Even in Skyrim, Nick breaks everything. XD

My favorite power up is what the website is named after: ScrewAttack since it is so cheap and powerful that it can blow up any enemy in your path. Then there's also the Thunder spell in Zelda 2.
