Everybody hates Metroid Other M and DmC for the stupedist reasons. " Samus talks and is a little bitch " No, Samus is a human fucking being and they give ehr one ounce of personality and characterazation for a change and suddenly everyone si bitching.

We aren't upset that Other M gave Samus more personality and dialogue. We're upset that Other M gave Samus more personality and dialogue that COMPLETELY contradicts her established character. There's nothing wrong with letting the audience know a bit more about Samus' fears or worries, but she isn't some fragile fairytale princess who is so crippled by her own loneliness and insecurity that she breaks down emotionally in the middle of a dangerous mission. Samus has wiped out ENTIRE PLANETS of bad guys, sindlehandedly saving the galaxy's ass time and time again. She's lost comrades in the process, but always holds it together so she can get the job done. There's no reason for her to break down like a menstruating sixteen-year-old when Ridley (whom she's defeated several times) attacks or Adam sacrifices himself (unnecessarily) for the mission. While I'm on the subject: Fuck Adam with a cactus. Nobody tells Samus what to do, especially generic forgettable asshole alpha male characters whom the writers mainly use to bring a totally weird and uncalled for "Oedipal daddy issues" side of Samus to the story. I'm glad he died, and I wish Anthony had died too. Also, Other M sacrifices many great staples of the Metroid franchise (exploration, isolation, atmosphere) in favor of insultingly linear gameplay and cinematic retro masturbation. Nintendo pushed the Prime trilogy out of the canon to make room for Other M, which is total horseshit. Finally, when you really sit down and think about it, the plot makes no goddamn sense.
Sorry. I'm bored at work and just watched the Other M cutscenes (couldn't ever bring myself to finish the game), which reminded me how godawful it is.
TL;DR Personality and character are great but they shouldn't turn a cool character into a whiny, unsympathetic one. Also, Other M sucks for more reasons than just Samus' awful characterization.

Thats the thoing, ADAM is Nintendo's way of crippileing Samus's inventory, cause theyres no reason to have given up all the powerups hse alreayd had opbtained countless times.
Adam is her superior officer, thats something that never changes. When you respect and trust a man/woman with your life, that never goes away. Samus is a badass, but she's a realistic badass now, the same way they reimagined LAra Croft in the Tomb Raider Reboot.
So fucking what she get's overemotional, you seem to forget she just lost the baby metroid, which saw her as a mother and as a woman she grew attached to it as well. She's not exactly stable right now, which is fine cause she's only human.

Here's the thing. I've played every single Metroid game. I've seen Samus destroy entire planets and armies by herself. I've seen her become renowned across the galaxy for her heroism and skill. If you're going to make a Metroid game that revolves around Samus taking orders from someone, you'd better make absolutely sure that person is a respectable, interesting, competent, charismatic person whom the audience believes is worthy of Samus' respect and compliance. Adam does not fit this description. He is an uninteresting character with no redeeming qualities who treats Samus like an inconvenience (rather than the tremendous asset she really is). Oh sure, the teenage-level melodramatic exposition takes great pains to try and TELL us how awesome and important Adam is, but the story makes no effort to SHOW us such. Also, from a gameplay standpoint, following Adam's orders makes no goddamn sense. Why wouldn't he let Samus use helpful equipment in life-threatening situations? It's not like she's in danger of hurting anyone while wandering around an abandoned space station.
Also, remember when Adam shoots Samus in the back to stop her from progressing? Yeah. Fuck Adam.
In short, Adam is incompetent and boring, and there's no reason for me as a player to believe and accept that Samus would just fall in line and do what he says.
As for the baby, I absolutely did not forget that Samus lost her. I already addressed this in my previous comment: Samus has experienced loss before, but she always holds it together so she can get the job done. The Samus I know from Metroid, Super Metroid, and the amazing Metroid Prime trilogy isn't such a wuss.
That's the main problem most Metroid fans have with Other M. The Samus in Other M is weak, dependent, and naive...not the same Samus we've been playing with for the past 25 years.

Skyward Sword's my biggest letdown actually:
- Where's the free-roaming exploration?
- Where are the challenging bosses?
- Where are the 12 numerous dungeons?
- Where are the skills for the sword that isn't about shield-bashing then attack?
Seriously, I played OoT and TP before that and boy, Skyward Sword pales in comparison.

Wow... I was unaware anyone else even knew about dbz games until now. Nobody talks about them and Game Informer doesn't even regard anime games. But yeah, Ultimate Tenkaichi is not so ultimate. Check out Laniball Z. Lanipator does a pretty good job at making such a terrible game entertaining.
