Which is why in the test of love, choosing her makes you lose the stage, right?
It's not a relationship, She likes him, he is the good guy that will risk his life for anybody. He doesent love her, he is just protecting her as thats his nature.
Calling it a romance or linking romanticism to him is out fo context, she is Amy Rose in human form, she wants him but he doesent want her.
She's NARRATING her story most of the time. You don't add emotion while narrating.
That was so good! There should be a second edition! There are so many bad stories just waiting to be unfolded! :)
K first off, gotta say I'm glad your one of those people who actually has a reasonable argument behind this. Second, rushed or not, Sonic 06 was beyond horrible. I'm sorry but even with the plot holes DMC carried, that game was, as said in the video, like bad fanfiction. The whole this was just bad. DMC's plot wasn't much better, but even if it took four years to make as compared to Sonic 06's, it was at least coherent.
IT'S NO USE!
It's Sonic the Hedgehog, commonly referred to as "Sonic '06". Planned to be released in '07, for Sonic's 16th anniversary, I think, but the fans..
Agreed. Plus what most people don't know if Sonic was originally going to have a human girlfriend in the original game. This idea was scrapped at some point during production for some reason or another and amy ended up kinda filling that role. Sonic 06 was apparently an attempt to re imagine the series and to do that they tried bringing in a few old ideas from the past and to be fair it could have been worse. I mean she's not his girlfriend she's just a princess who kinda has feelings for the one that regularly saves her. Personally I wish they have done the smart thing and brought Sally Acorn (Or an equivalent character) into the story. It would have felt a lot more natural.
Wow, excellent story telling in this one, guise. Especially Ben's bit. Gotta say though, new green screen effect? Kiiiiinda makes everyone look like they're made out of paper. ._.
The same could be said about Shadow and either Knuckles or Metal Sonic.
It doesn't matter that they never had sex on-screen. There's a biological point to romantic relationships, you know. One thing leads to another eventually. Just because they never did it doesn't mean it wouldn't have gotten there if the developers hadn't cut things short when they did. It's not okay because of what "being in love" leads to, and as I've established, 99% of human beings do not condone porking an animal. It's what's implied that kills any hope of this being touching or sweet, especially considering it's such a socially unacceptable subject. You can't hand-wave this away for the sake of narrative convenience, either, and I'll explain why below.
You can't compare this to Beauty and the Beast. "The Beast" was a metaphor; by opening up to love, the prince stopped being a monster and learned to be human. Even if this was a story of love overcoming all, here's something to linger on: why isn't Amy the one bringing him back? We've established for several games before '06 that these two have a relationship, and it makes even more sense considering they're actually...you know...THE SAME SPECIES. Sonic may glow gold at the end, but I'm pretty sure he never turns into a prince.
Who is Elise to Sonic, really? They know each other for barely, oh...let's say a week at best, and suddenly they're in love? This may have worked in a movie like Snow White, where the whole point of the film is to play to your emotions; to not give you what you logically or ethically want, but emotionally want. What makes it work is that Snow White has the talent and production quality behind the concepts to back that up. Sonic '06, on the other hand, is written and produced so incompetently, the only emotions you're getting lost in are anger at the crappy controls, and bewilderment at plot-holes so big you could drive The Egg Viper through them. The game itself is terribly flawed, to the point where it loses its audience. You're not immersed in what's going on because all of its shortcomings are actively working against you getting lost in the experience. This means it's much easier to notice that this is a relationship that makes no sense. You're not willing to forgive the little mistakes because you're dealing with so many big ones on top of them. Never mind that Snow White was a story unto itself, whereas Sonic already has an established continuity; a continuity that will make people angry if you mess with it. What if in Star Fox, some no-name human woman came in and started giving smooches to Fox McCloud? You'd be justifiably pissed.
Nobody likes this relationship because nobody is given a reason to. With a previously established (and more compatible) love interest being abandoned for no logical reason, and the fact that the ending makes it so all of this was pointless to begin with, it seems the only possible reason left for giving Sonic a human love interest was simply for the sake of giving him a human love interest. All that's left to linger on when the credits roll is that you suffered for hours through a shitty game only to watch a creepy scene of a grown, realistically-rendered woman kiss a cartoon animal. NOT. FUN.
So no, no matter what angle you attack this from, be it moral, narrative, logical, or otherwise, this relationship is not okay. Not only was it brought down by absolutely clueless direction, but it had such a mismatched couple, it was doomed from the start. Is this even WORTH debating? Please ask yourself that before replying. Is it really worth your time trying to elevate one element in what will eternally be considered one of the worst games ever made? Nobody gives a shit about Sonic '06 or anything about it that doesn't have "Game" and "Grumps" in the title, and neither should you. Just let bad games get the negative attention they deserve and move on.
that's because too often people thinks being (Powerless) Normal Person is all that makes people "Human"
the reason Just Cause 2 sucks in plot is: America has worse Problems than the country that the hero supposedly liberates in Just Cause 2
Has Ben began to lose his hair?
Well... the video is called worst ever video game story.
I don't hate Silver because he's annoying. I hate him because he's clearly a reshaped Shadow character trying to cash in on Shadow's popularity. He's a regurgitated nightmare Sonic Team barfed out with no creative thinking whatsoever hoping they could pull the same trick twice. . . . . .and yeah, he's annoying too. :)
Well....at least you don't hate Silver in the newest games even on the comic. Although that plot is confusing they even erased Silver meeting with Sonic(and somehow Blaze) and even worse Silver's timeline is still F@*% up!!
What is this Sonic '06 you speak of? I remember the Shadow the Hedgehog video game. After that came Sonic and the Secret Rings. They both sucked but there was no really, horribly, mutated beast of an aborted video game in between them. The only Sonic game that came out in '06 was Sonic Rivals. As far as my reality is concerned.
Say What you want about Sonic '06 but you gotta admit..... it's got a badass soundtrack
