-I highly doubt that Ganondorf's lightning attacks are classified as white magic, also the Triforce of Courage is known to have some resistance to vlack magic because while Navi was affected by Ganondorf's waves of darkness, Link shrugged it off
-Even if Cloud wasn't frozen by the arrow it would have hit him, though not killing him, it would slow him down or damage him
-The boomerang is MAGIC. I don't think every boomerang comes back to you no matter how far you've gone away from it and it is strong enough to daze some Zelda bosses
-They base the fight off of the character's own thoughts and emotions. Even though Cloud has Zak's memories his own instincts is what he drives himself with, letting his emotions be his power. And if he did change direction, Link's Z-targeting heightens his reflex
-Why should every limit in a game affect how it would be in a real fight? Link couldn't run on walls with the Pegasus Boots in an overworld view game, but could in Skyward Sword without them anyway. And its not like Cloud had to wait for his turn in the fight.
Alright, this battle I HAVE to disagree with.
Cloud's speed and brute power CLEARLY outclass Link's, even if he had the strength and speed of his former incarnations added to his own. Also, even if Link did use the abilities and skills of his former incarnates, this does not mean that he gets there items as well. Example, the Link in Twilight Princess does not achieve the Pegasus boots or the Gauntlets.
As for the battle itself there are some things that made little sense.
-Link is seen deflecting the lightning attacks that Cloud uses. While the master sword is capable of deflecting white magic, Lighting falls into the category of Black Magic in the Final Fantasy Series.
-Cloud was frozen by an arrow after it was declared that the Red Ribbon that Cloud wore immunizes him from all status effects.
-When Link lost his sword, and Cloud was hit from behind by the boomerang, I find it unlikely that the boomerangs impact would have been enough to stun Cloud that long. After all, as was stated in the show, Cloud has been buried under buildings and stabbed multiple times, and then walked away like it was nothing. How then could a boomerang's impact stun him long enough for Link to pull out his clawshot, equip it, and fire it, let alone have it return with the master sword in hand. Er, claw.
-When Cloud was attacking Link, I find it unlikely that Cloud would have used straight forward cuts as was shown. Due to his memories received from his buddy, It's far more likely that cloud would have attacked from a few different angles in order to overcome the shield.
-6 Bombs being dropped at once. In what Legend of Zelda game has Link EVER been able to drop more than one bomb at a time? Ok, MAYBE two if he had the item, but 6 at once is total crap.
Truth be told, I really sense that there was a large amount of bias in this battle. Personally, I'm more of a Zelda fan then a Final Fantasy fan, but I think Cloud clearly held the upper hand here. That superhuman strength and speed are just to much for Link to overcome.
That said, my match-up ideas.
Here are some match-ups to consider

@lance087 People found insane ways to beat the original Zelda with no sword.
Ragna (Blazblue) VS Sol Badguy (Guilty Gear)
Raiden (Metal Gear Rising Revengence) VS Virgil (Devil May Cry 3)
Megaman vs Goemon (from the Mystical Ninja series)
It is fair. The Master Sword is the starting weapon for Adult Link in Ocarina of Time. Plus Link has weilded alot more items stronger than the Master Sword. They clearly said that in this fight they would use the weapons from their fighting games and yes Link's moves that he used here are moves he used in the games.
yeah like this is fair! You gave cloud the starter weapon while link gets his end-game weapon? The ultima weapon is cloud's equivalent of the master sword and all of links moves were things he couldn't do in game and were never seen to do you guys just threw them in there while we have seen cloud do all that and more in both his games and the movie.
Ash's Charizard vs Ridley.
Kyle Katarn vs Hal Jordan!
Gokudera Hayato vs. Punisher
Yeah, the materia was really cut short and Cloud could have been given more than what he got, I'll agree. But I really wanted to see the Triforce Slash go up against the Omnislash, even if it wasn't technically canon it would have been cool.
Fair enough, It was a little excessive to say Cloud relies on them as much as Link but I think it is fair to say he relies on them as much as Link relies on the Hyrulian shield. Now I may be mistaken given the sheer volume of material for Link to draw upon but I do believe there is no point that the shield is 100 percent necessary. I know at least for link to the past there are no shield vids that show the player purposely letting a like like eat Link's shield and then go on to complete the game. I should also point out I'm not saying that these changes should let Cloud win. I just hate to see Link win because they kneecapped Cloud. So I say either give Cloud back his items so he can fight on the level he is supposed to or give him the weapons, materia and stats that allow him to fight without them or at the minimum at least give him the master spell materia and quad-cut or mime.32qAZ
Imagine how much props a person would get by beating any Zelda boss fight without items. That's right you can't, because it is literally impossible. And that is even considering most of the first Zelda game bosses. That fact that it is impossible to progress at all in a Zelda game without items yet a FF game boss has actual videos on people doing it, should prove that Link uses his items more
Problem with 3 link just needed the iron boots so he could stop sliding they are just a brace throwing them was links power also link survived several slashes from a monster stronger than cloud so stop bitching and get over it
Ganondorf vs Sephiroth
