Ok if I remember right Sony said there would be no Dualshock on the PS2 and yet we got the Dualshock 2. Then they said there would be no Dualshock on the PS3 then the Dualshock 3 came out after the Sixaxis failed. Does anyone else see a pattern of making us pay for the new Dualshock when the new design fails.

I'm guessing that it will probably end up like when the PS3 launched. Sony shows off new controller, everyone hates, it, they release a controller that looks like the old one but lacks a function, everyone hates it, then they decide to release the Dualshock 4.
Oh, and the competitive/E-Sports gaming scene is growing, which makes the notion of a complete retirement of the current Dualshock design seem more fantasy than reality. That and the fact that it would be just plain cheaper to do so, especially since they also own the Dualshock patent.

GTA 5 finally got a release date 3/27/13. I can NOT WAIT!
