Mass Effect armor in Dead Space is nothing new. They did that with DS2 as well, Not to mention the cross game gear between ME3 and Kingdoms of Amalur.

As for the microtransactions - that is also something in ME3. You can earn credits through gameplay to unlock crates of gear, OR you can spend MS points for the crates directly. People actually buy those so it stands to reason they'd say "Hey, people want to give us money? sure." Doesn''t mean you HAVE to do it.

So basically, if you want to skip searching for scraps in game, you can just be lazy and buy them. Not a big deal.

And in one fell swoop EA managed to get people to think slightly less bad of them before making them hate the company even more. Way to go EA.
