Why can't Nintendo completely get rid of the Friend Codes? Its a horrible implemention to add people to your friend list. They need to make it good like XBL, PSN, and Steam. Well looks like I won't be playing the Wii U online then unless a Monster Hunter game comes out on it.

I call BS on Miyamoto. It's a trap! He wants us all to think "Well, since they wont come out with a better one, I might as well buy a 3DS now." And then BAM! New remodeled 3DS that makes your old one look like crap. Very sneaky, Nintendo. Very sneaky.

Let me ask you, what is the difference between typing in your friend's user name on XBL or PSN, and typing in a friend code on the Wii U to add them to your list of friends? I don't see why people are complaining about this. I mean really, instead of typing in a name, you are typing in numbers. Is that really so bad. They took the main reason why people hated friend codes and eliminated it.

Also I'm thinking that the friend code is primarily so that every gaming console already has a unique ID to them.
