I'm hoping that FF15 is some sort of reboot. As for the month of mario, it does sound tempting for a few of them...but only for a few of them.
I've always thought Versus XIII, before XIII was ever released, would be the better game and hopefully it does see the light of day. Maybe they are just re-naming it FFXV. That would go along with the rumors.
Well, it is being done by the Kingdom Hearts director, but its still pretty fun fight system to play with, the major differences from Versus to KH fight system is that every party member can be controlled and changed on the fly and each character is all unique from each other
I like you. You're good people.
but of course!
Which one are you referring to? The Stranglehold image next to my name right here?
hey i know you just wrote a big thing about final fantasy and thats cool and everything, but i feel like i have to point out the fact that the game in your display picture is one of the greatest games to ever exist. you have good taste my friend
Anyone up for starting a Kickstarter for Kingdoms of Amaleur 2?
Jared, you always find ways to make me laugh
I was using the term "direct sequel" pretty loosely (as just having 13 in the title) since I can't say I know much about the story or direction of the game. I know I'm over reacting by saying fans think so highly of the game already and how it'll affect the FF name, but there could be some truth to it, too. Kingdom Hearts 1 is one of my favorite games ever, and the reputation of sequels that have come out after years of development have been pretty good so far. I was looking at it from more of a technical standpoint, I guess, basing the game solely on its name and known gameplay.
Well hey, Duke Nukem Forever was out for so long because it got cancelled by so many different developers, and lost all relevance in today's market. Final Fantasy versusXIII is just being developed by people from several of Square's studios, and they're just now getting done with prior commitments.
I don't think we have to worry about it going "Forever" on us :p
Final Fantasy versusXIII isn't a "direct FF sequel." It's part of a collection of the games built around very similar themes and concepts revealed by XIII - the Fabula Nova Crystallis. I don't think it was ever stated by Square that it would "put FF back on track," that sounds more like people speculating, especially when versusXIII is so radically different from the gameplay of the "time/turn-based" main franchise.
It's essentially the fantastic gameplay of a Kingdom Hearts game, but with a much more serious and dark tone. Lots of reasons to be excited for that.
However, it was revealed that versusXIII runs on the new Luminous Engine, which means that some time during development the game was move to a completely new engine they had to build - very similar to XIII's development, where they switched between the Unreal Engine to their proprietary Crystal Tools engine, owing to a longer development cycle. They're also trying a lot of new things, so they want to make sure they get it right. I can be happy about that kind of commitment n.n
I really enjoyed it too. Still haven't finished it though. Really disappointed we won't see more in the future.
Well Nintendo I .already have those Mario games...dammit
