I'd say Dark Souls and XCOM. While I loved Dark Souls for it's difficulty, I did find it somewhat unfair at parts, but it's a good game. Saving means enemies respawn too, and your heart beats every time you go into a dark place. XCOM isn't hard from the get-go (unless you play on the hardest difficulty, that's just brutal) but one minor slip up can make you want to flip tables. Especially on Ironman. But every time, you wanna keep going. Heartpoundingly awesome.

Oh guys, please stop rubbing salt into my wounds. SGC has been my dream for three years now but I'm terribly afraid I don't have the money to fly all the way to Texas... Thank you so much for the support, you made us cry :)

Wii U = DS in HD, NOT the Wii HD, seriously. The DS has so many [non-shovelware] games that use the touch screen in clever ways. Now imagine those same game concepts in HD. Don't tell me that wouldn't be a good idea.

Not to mention the Wii and DS are Nintendo's two top selling platforms of all-time so making a combination of both platforms makes sense.

Here's my stance on difficulty: I don't have a problem with a game being hard as long as it's a fair challenge. Nothing's more annoying then dieing a million times due to some stupid jump or some stupid enemy. Also, I think you should choose your difficulty on games. That's one of the problems with Diablo 3; you had to beat easy mode and work your way up. Just gimme a choice and let me start from there!

i just tried ghosts and goblins because of watching the how many lives episode. g&g wasn't a game i owned as a kid, so it took me 4 lives to get through the first level and i couldn't get past the second :S

EA did the same to Nintendo in regards to NBA Jam. It was meant to be an exclusive and Nintendo even showcased it during E3 only for it to end up multiplatform shortly afterwards.

Hardest games I've played in recent times was the original Ninja Gaiden series and Max Payne 2.

I have't really played a hard game recently, mainly because I haven't played anything but Far Cry 3 since school started back up haha
