I like how you went back and clarified some things about your "PC Gaming is Dead" video. I'm still not entirely sure I get it, though... I mean, I kind of wish I was a PC gamer, but it feels like there are too many boundaries for me to hurdle over. Because yeah, like MovieBob said, PC gaming is a pain in the ass, even IF you can apparently plug in your Xbox 360 controller or whatever.
Maybe that's why PC gamers are so uptight about it, because they feel a certain superiority out of not being bothered with it's bullshit or whatnot. Point is, I am NOT a computer person and likely never will be, thus I'll probably never be a true PC gamer.
I also feel like this video backs up a comment he made in an Overbytes episode about it being easier to fix his NES than any given video game console or PC these days. Although, I, myself, would still be flummoxed about what to do. :(

Leave to humans to over-exaggerate to the point of rage and war. Uh oh! A semi-cultural/religious comment was made!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!! Everything is religion. It's all in the manner in which you perceive "your religion". It's not like moviebob/GO went into some long spill about it. Those that didn't like the comment were obviously affected by it in some way. Why else comment on such a trivial and minuscule evolutionary comment? It was a simple analogy. Perhaps, not the best use of one but that's what it was. You fools are so ready to grab the pitchforks and torches it's unbelievable. I agree with GO's closing comment. It would be better if all these things just vanished. That way you no one would go through these pointless "wars" and squabbles over inanimate objects ever again....Better for gamers, better for MANKIND as a WHOLE!!!!

Um though from coming from someone that is going and getting his EET certs, you do know Bob that the ATX motherboard is a industry standard that most chipsets should they want to be successful in the USA must abide by those standards to work on this board if they planned to be of any use in this market.
Also as for someone who is in class to learn to become a software engineer, you do know there will always be a market for a company that wants to become a industry standard and in doing so must give room for a product to be open source. Since you did bring up the Apple II remember it was their marketing choice for it to be open for developers to make software for it.
Does everyone want to go through the hassle of making a PC gaming machine, no.
But is there people that want to squeeze every ounce of performance out of their machines, Ignore it if you will, but PC gaming is already accessible, in fact newegg practically teaches and sells you computer kits to make them for the price of a "new" console.
The only excuse you have to cling to dated hardware is either willful ignorance, or rose-tinted goggles of Nostalgia... or well a collector's item would be a nicer way to put it.
Edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=fvwp&v=9xU9iKA19mQ&NR=1 but yeah that is what this entire argument sounds like to me.

at what time does the episode actually start at?

Mmmm, I dunno, but perhaps calling what could be a noticeable portion of your audience idiots wasn't such a good idea. Now maybe if you do keep pulling out all that stuff about how creationists are idiots and conservatives are racist, sexist, bigots, then you might come to the point where they actually aren't a noticeable portion of your audience, and maybe you are striving for exactly that; ie: losing faithful viewers because you felt like inserting some unrelated opinion blatantly targeting about half or more of the American population...
This show is about video games, please no more of this uptight unrelated crap.

The PS2 was not a fancier version of PS1. It had significantly better processing power, offered more variety when it came to accessories, had an optional drive capability that introduced many people to online gaming, could play movies, and introduced the end user to the "Home Entertainment Systems" that we have today instead of just being a gaming device. You could purchase a remote that looked and felt exactly like a vcr/dvd remote and many people could use the system as their primary dvd player.
Both Playstation and the Wii did not have "proprietary storage devices". You could use almost any laptop hard drive on the ps3 and it worked, and with the most bare minimum knowledge of technology you could soft-mod your Wii to use external hard drives to store digital representations of games (there are even youtube videos that hold your hand through the whole process!)
There is a huge difference between consoles and gaming pcs. Firstly, FRAMES PER SECOND. You absolutely cannot seem to reach 60fps on a gaming console. If you've ever experienced the difference, you'd know 30 is almost unlivable compared to 60. Secondly, you really can't do any photo or video editing on a game console. I mean, to say there is little difference between gaming pcs and consoles, well....to be honest...it shows us why you have these silly, poorly edited skits that use horrific cinematography. Because you don't know what you're talking about anymore.
No one does any of the "swapping out processors" that you speak of. Most of us are smart about our purchases and do a ton of research on items before purchasing them. You buy a graphics card that will last you a few years and I for one can tell you my purchase was more than worth the $300 I paid to upgrade my pc into a gaming pc. I do no swapping. PC Gaming is EASIER THAN CONSOLE GAMING. You download the game, double click the icon and you're playing. If someone doesn't know how to do the things you're required to do, to PC game, they simply haven't done the research. It's very easy, and frankly you speaking the way you do about PC gaming sounds extremely lazy. You're just being passive about something you clearly know very little about, and as a fan, and an avid PC gamer, it's insulting for you to be like that.

I wish the sentiment about being polite toward the end had shown up around 4:40. Being a huge fan of this show since before it's Screwattack presence, that' jab was honestly pretty disappointing.

Building up a PC is very much like playing LEGO, dude. Easy stuff. If she was still alive, my grandmother could do it.
