i understand your side and the side of the one complaining i don't like the end of mass effect 3 but i am not going to make threats but yea
the big problem i got is that the end result of mass effect don't give a damn about what happens in the time before the end teh whole end game is desided on the end itself in the same way like deus ex human revolution did it (and i wasn't happy about that either but whatever)
the game gives you a choice in the end both leading to a solution to the enemy you where fighting all the time giving a big loss to one thing or the other , you choose and then you see the ending synamatic
what happens before you reached that choice doesn't have any effect at all wich angers teh people , i understand there anger, but it is true, bioware gave you a choice, and made sure you won't see mass effect 4 (or any other spinoff or whatever they may or may not make ) wouldn't have Sheppard in it
***spoiler just in case*** and true they gave a choice, but both let you die in horrible ways or you die giving your soul to controll the technolygy of the reapers but destroying the mass effect relays making live go back a 1000 years into teh past technolagy wise or you die because you kil a ll sybernetic life , meaning everybody with a arm protese or so, a mechanical lounge would all die into your hands, no more geth either, and no reapers but in both cases you die and cause major problems at that point you also need to walk for a minute or 2 to trigger the events because you are wounded and need to walk all the way to 1 of the controll pannels, and you wait to long? suprise :D you die with the rest of the galaxy T.T
***End oif spoiler***
now i know they made a free DLC makes the story better in a way and it si free (but my Xbox won't go online) so i haven't been able to check it out
i can understand that they can't make a different ending for each charrecter you saved or let die, for every mission you did or didn't do, but it feels so damn cheap and that is what annoys the most people that played it
now also i do have to add that the choices thing does work out a little in teh story as you ply it, in small ways, like did you have a relation with one person (for me liara, as a female charecter) and in the second game with thane ,liara will ask who you choose and as she is the shadow broker in 3 visiting thane will make her mad for a while, these are nice touches to the game and thus bioware is true to it's word, choices make a difference
but as we all know there is also a higher power that is putting it's hand where it doesn't belong as for ordering changes to the game and so, but lets not go into that
i think i rambled enough, i agree with you, but i also understand the hate wasn't my favorite ending of one of my favorite games but live doesn't always go as we want it right
sorry for the ramble ^^ i jut like to discuss stuff at times :)

For me, I realize that Bioware didn't owe me jack squat. However, where I was coming from personally was indignation on Bioware's behalf. It was made pretty clear that when someone leaked the original ending, EA made them change it while still adhering to a non-negotiable release date VERY late in the development process. It was really clear that they HAD to cut corners and essentially slap it all together in a hurry to make their deadline. That is what pissed me off. So, my campaigning for the extended cut wasn't so much "Bioware owes me an ending tailored to my experience!" as much as "EA! Back off and let the people at Bioware put out their magnum opus without you telling them what to do!" But that's just me.

this should be done by someone who played the trilogy not someone who has not

Raimi owes me a lesbian scene!

The point about "entitlement" is one reason why I see this in such stark contrast to the message of OpRainfall. The people there didn't argue that Nintendo owes them - the point is simply that the games would be profitable, and that Nintendo would be rewarded if the games *do* get released outside of Japan. However, I can't say that the relationship between developer & gamer ends with a game purchase. Brand loyalty is quite powerful, and part of cultivating that relationship with consumers is that the company *is* expected to do right by consumers. BioWare had no legal/financial obligations to create/release the DLC, but it serves their future interests to keep their fanbase happy. Just like how Nintendo chose to make OpRainfall activists happy, with the Wii U coming out soon.
