They used the comics in the Death Battle too.

Or not

Your height figure is off. 3'3" is based off the original character. The 3' 7" is the Sonic of today, and the height difference is clearly demonstrated in Sonic Generations,. So if you're going to base the calculations off his height, you'd better check your information more thoroughly. Suck on THAT, Game Theory.
JPArbiter
he tossed the 3'3" figure out and agreed with you. dumbass
Zero32483
Read my post more carefully. He tossed the 3'3" classic height in favor of the current 3'7", then went back and applied the 3'7" to the classic sonic stage and character icon, when Sonic was the SHORTER height. Who's the dumbass?

So you're saying to use the shorter height? That would make the stage even shorter than what they said. Then it's 233.78 m, making Sonic going only 9.35m/s. Correct me if I'm wrong but you seem to be pro-Sonic. Doesn't this go against what you originally intended?

Oh, it's a negative point to be sure, I just felt like biting back against such obvious idiocity. For some of the less obvious, first one must consider that we're observing this world at Sonic's speed, but the timer clock is in a relativistic perspective we can understand. What this means for the average joe is, the clock is a lie. For example, the projectiles the early flying enemy fires? When was the last time you saw a projectile that slow ? So to figure out how fast the stage REALLY is, you've got to determine how fast that projectile really would go, then adjust the "world record time" to reflect this faster timeframe, then calculate the meters per second. Then you have to consider that there is no such thing as a flat classic sonic level. jumping and other speed hindrances aside, sonic's world is full of hills, inclines, depressions, loops, and other terrain that make the stage distance he must run longer than the measured distance given by a FLAT LINE. My point here is to show that for a "Game Theory", very little actual consideration for real research has been done here, and I should think someone bold enough to post such a theory would have more scruples than to do anything like this halfway.

Okay so if we should consider Sonic in his frame of reference, then they still make a valid point about Robotnik outrunning Sonic. Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to be argumentative. Of course I think Sonic is as fast as the writers say he is. It's their decision after all. I just think that there's a lot of overanalyzing on both sides. People are getting too worked up about this. This video just made me think 'well hey, that's interesting'. I guess it was bound to piss a few people off but honestly, I like videos like Game Theory. Of course a lot of their calculations probably aren't credible but I would rather have them post them than not.

Isn't it conceivable that Sonic lets Robotnik get away because he feels sorry for him? The biggest problem with something like Sonic is we assume the frame of reference is constant. I do agree there's a lot of overanalyzing on both sides. My point is, though, if you're going to be argumenative and insulting like this video is being, you ought to do proper research and theorizing, not just some base lame argument that doesn't consider every possible angle. Game Theory boasts itself as the "Mythbusters of gaming". Well, Mythbusters does the research this guy didn't.

Argh. Why must you double post on me, reply?
