I forgot to leave a comment earlier, but I really liked the insight in the conferences here.
As for me, my favorite games from the conferences were probably Rayman Legends, Watch Dogs, Beyond: Two Souls, and The Last of Us. A lot of people don't seem to be interested in the Beyond title, but I'm a major cinema fan, so the idea plus the active involvement of Ellen Page seems awesome to me. I like how Quantic Dreams is trying to push the boundaries of how a video game can tell an effective narrative.
I actually saw that, but this was recorded before that happened.
actually, they did show the public through Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. they even turned Fallon into a Zombie! it was on friday night.
Once you find the subject, it's hard to stop thinking about it. It practically writes itself. Well I guess I can go on vacation now: Hawaii here I come!
We'd really appreciate it.
Great episode! I'll try to come up with some Top Tens...no promises, though!
Yup, it was long, but worth it.
Yeah... there were some VERY bad games this year.
Ah, sorry I mixed that up.
haha, now you're my favourite person! brownies for all :D
That was a really long episode, but with a lot of insight on all of the press conferences, I loved it (especially the part about what Nintendo Land could possibly be doing). Also, brownies XD (I think that was the word...)
Sorry, I thought I'd gotten all of that out of my system after I had written about Heavy Rain in my list of generally well received games I hate. It's an opinion, but I still don't see how Quantic Dreams is the only studio to have made a "true, engaging, gripping story".
I missed that when I listened. Just went back, and yeah totally backwards.
I don't like David Cage either. The guy should be writing movies, not video games. Although I don't feel the same kind of blind rage you are....
Dang I didn't know you already used the Yo Mama jokes! Come on people! Bring out some countdowns I can't do them all! Brawny? Nice episode guys. What was up with the swearing? E3 does that to you.
Actually, Digmbot gave ME the awkward scenarios and I responded to them. Just sayin' XD
Also, to everyone reading this comment, seriously. Listen to the E3 extended chat if you want to hear me babble like an idiot and move around on my squeaky chair!
Great episode :)
^I also agree with that, I wasn't exactly enthused by Beyond. but 1000 people, 1000 tastes right?
Well... that was rather strong... geez Lousy... xD
Thanks for watching.
"Now I have to say if you're going to kick off a press conference, you kick it off with Quantic Dreams. You're going to kick off a freaking press conference. Quantic Dreams is probably the only developer that I've ever seen create a true, engaging, gripping story"
There are so many things I disagree with in that statement it makes me want to puke. I hate Quantic Dreams, I hate David Cage, and 1000 Ellen Pages couldn't change that. I can name a thousand developers who can write FUCKING CIRCLES around anything Quantic Dreams has ever shat out and think there are far more games worthy of being called 'engaging' and 'gripping' than Heavy Rain of all things.
Nice podcast aside from that. Thanks for mentioning our prediction blog.
