I was wondering about this while watching the archived challenge, Has anyone tried for the 100 coins stars with the green demon?

The thought actually crossed my mind, I would deem it plausible but it would require a lot more planning than doing it off the cuff like we all did. You really can't out run it for long so long jumps are key, the real trick is not doing the ground pound by accident (and we all did that a lot).
