IMOG 2008 Final Recap

The 2008 iteration of the Iron-Man of Gaming will be remembered for a number of different things- epic matches, a killer atmosphere and a hell of a good time. For those of you who keep saying "I wish I could go but..." really need to buck up and start saving for next year's IMOG trip now. If you've learned anything from ScrewAttack it's that no matter we're involved in we're gonna do our best to make you have a good time- isn't that what gaming is all about anyways? You're damn right.

Vertex Guy!

One of the coolest moments at the Iron-Man this year had to be when Vertex Guy aka Chris Kline hit the stage and absolutely shredding the crowds face off. You may recognize him rocking the stage at Video Game Live and his videos on youtube. Believe me, while providing this recap is cool watching him on video does not do it justice at all. One of the best guitar players you'll ever see, Vertex Guy is in a league of his own. We all had to get in front of the mirror after the show... because he rocked our faces right off. <-- worst joke in history.

*edit* We just received an email from Vertex Guy himself and he informed us that you can now buy the brand new "Bionic Jam" from the upcoming Bionic Commando Game here for only 99 cents! Woo hoo! It was just released and is a perfect fit for all you with video game music libraries in your iPod.

Two Minutes with The Nerd

At Iron-Man 2008 we had a real cool opportunity to sit down and do something we haven't been able to do ever- sit down and actually talk with some of our features. If you've ever said "If I had just two minutes with The Nerd it would be soooo cool!" well now is your chance. What is he like.... REALLY.

Battle of the Skinny Men

In a rivalry that was kept under wraps leading up the Iron-Man this year Ben and Jared went back and forth over milk. Cheese to be more specific. While the details will be spared the only way we could think of them settling their feud would be to throw them in front of hundreds of people and have them arm wrestle. While the video won't show it, this was actually the scariest moments of the weekend for personally. All I will say is that Jared is a dick and the piss that ran down my leg is proof of it.

IMOG Battle to the Death!

We have had some incredible eating challenges in the past- punches to the 'nads, a nugget snorted through the nose and of course Ben nearly dying. While the consequences may not have been as severe at the Iron-Man of Gaming, we may have found someone that can put Jose (complete with Sharpee 'stache) to shame in terms of packin' it away: 2007 g1 of the Year BirdmanTWIG. While we planned for the competition to be with Twinkies, we felt like upping the calorie intake...

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith!

If you didn't know, we had this little event last weekend called the Iron-Man of Gaming. We gave away a ton of cash, had a kick ass time and premiered the new Guitar Hero: Aerosmith a full week before the game was released as the final game of the competition. For those of you not fortunate enough to be there, you'll be seeing a lot of videos from the event over the next couple weeks. Let's just start at the end and work our way around.
