I don't think I'd be interested. I already got this for WiiWare a couple years ago. Besides, I feel that they're starting to milk a single game without making much changes (though I don't mind if they re-released this 10 or more years from when they 1st released this on WiiWare, for a newer generation of gamers to enjoy). I think that I'll spend my money elsewhere, like maybe Blaster Master: Overdrive, Braid, or even one of the older Castlevania or Metroid games.

I would like to see a sequel to this game though. It would be interesting to see what they'd do with a Cave Story sequel.

Judging by the graphics and sound, it looks like the original PC version you can easily get for free...and Im 100% ok w/ that! :D This game is an instant classic, and although the Wii remake was fun, it just doesnt compare to the original. Call me a sucker, but even if i do have to pay for it all over again, Im getting this! :D

? This is an advertisement for the DSi version of Cave Story. They aren't gonna release the 3d version there?

Looks pretty damn cool. Reminds me of Battle Kid a bit. Is this going to be on a 3DS game card/cart or a downloadable game? I noticed it said DSi, so I guess it will for all versions of the DS, unless it is downloadable of course since the DS Lite & earlier models can't download games.

This is an ad for the downloadable version on DSi and 3DS; no relation to the retail 3DS remake that just came out in North America. (If your interested, the original freeware version of this game can be downloaded here: http://www.cavestory.org/downloads_game.php )

That freeware version is the PC version, right? I never heard about Cave Story before since I see it came out in 2004 when I was in the middle of my hiatus from new video games.

Is this version pretty much the same as the Wii version? I see that this came out last year around this time in the U.S. already, so I think this is the Japan release.

I believe the Wii version's "enhanced" graphics are optional, too. So whichever soundtrack and graphics you like, you can pick and choose.

So the Wii version lets you choose if you want to play with the original graphics. Wow that's great. I'll have to download the PC version.

AFAIK, but I don't have it myself.

The link is to the PC version, yes. I've never heard about Cave Story either until it was released on WiiWare.

The main differences are that WiiWare version has improved graphics from the original, an optional remixed soundtrack, and additional modes while the DSiWare version has the same graphics and soundtrack as the original PC version but an unlockable time attack mode and a jukebox menu where you can listen to music you've heard in the game. The Wiiware version costs 1200 Wii points and the DSi/3DS version costs 1000 points/$9.99, while the original PC version is free but doesn't have any of these additional modes/improvements.

...But, this is already out on the DSiware! I got it 5 months ago!

Same here. I guess the DSi port is just now coming out in Japan...

There is a 3DS retail title (with new 3D graphics) and a DSi title, which looks like a port of the WiiWare version.

The weird thing is, however, is that this is already out on the DSi! I got this on my DSi 5 months ago!
