Valve's zombie hunters are heading to Capcom?
3/18/13 8:38pm
caboose_-1: It still could just be a coincidence though. =P

ExplodingLobster: Oh yeah, I see it.
3/17/13 6:34pm
caboose_-1: Except that the soldier in question is also wearing a red jacket and a bandolier similar to what the Soldier in TF2 has. I'd say it could be possible.
3/17/13 4:38pm
Metroidvania98: You can actually read it as Resident Evil 6 10 left 4 dead 2 as X is a roman numeral as well so yeah, crazy numbers.
3/17/13 10:54am
McKnackus I: Gotta love all the numbers on that title. It would be even crazier if they made a new game out of it.

Are these legitimate complaints or is this a non issue blown out of proportion?

Apparently the world's deadliest 13 year old is quite racist.
2/22/13 7:23pm
darkhyrulelord: I dunno....I don't think she's racist. I think they are changing her just to try to stifle some annoying complaints.
2/5/13 7:22pm
Tyler Knudsvig: Or she's a 13 Year Old with no formal schooling. That too...

DarthStuticus: Apart from the Quartet from the first game, Tina is by FAR my favorite BL2 Character. My girlfriends as well. If someone is offended by Tina, they should be offended by the entire game, and therefore not fit to pass judgment upon it.
2/5/13 5:50pm
TOKYOzombie: As a black man, I do not find Tiny Tina offensive. Her use of urban slang is not being used in a negative way. Burche was not trying to making any statements about black people with the character. Anyone, who is offended, what message are you getting from her? What do you think Burche was trying to say about black people through Tiny Tina? If you can't think of one, you are offended for no reason. Just the fact she uses urban slang alone is not enough reason to call the character a racist stereotype, because it is not coupled with any negative traits that are usually associated with people who speak that way, like being lazy or uneducated. Tiny Tina is quite the opposite.

I think this stemmed from Mike Sacco, the white guy behind the accusations, feeling uncomfortable about laughing at a character who displayed a negative black stereotype, and blamed the writing for his own insecurities. The comedy is in the juxtaposition of a small white girl living and surviving in a tough environment around a lot of tough men (shown in her speech, probably comparing Pandora to the tough life in the inner city). He's using the "tough guy" part and not the "uneducated" part. There's really nothing racist about it.

I compare what I thought was the most underrated game to what I thought was the most overrated game of this year.
12/8/12 10:50pm
Scourge626: In any game that considers themselves an RPG (not a game with RPG elements, but a full on Role Playing Game) then story is paramount. Especially in Western RPGs. WRPGs pride themselves in allowing the player to immerse themselves into their characters and become them. That is hard to do when you barely care what happens to the people around you and the very world you are trying to save. To that extent, the story needs to be engaging, andthe characters need to be relatable and have to make us care for them, This game failed in that aspect in that the story was one that worked; had a setting, narrative arc, an antagonist, and central conflict but lacked anything at personal stake. Yeah, you forgot your memories, but the game didn't give me any desire to figure out who I was. In fact, my previous lifestyle is what got me killed so why should I pursue it when I have all the power and abilities granted to me as a person who could control is own fate and the fate of others? Heck, the only reason I continued with the main quest was because I never leave a game unfinished, I had already completed everything before going back to the main quest in each of the main sections, and I was bored. Before anyone says "but you're suppose to develop your own reasons to as the character, you're not supposed to be given one" well the game developers present you with reasonings and choices on what kind of character you could be and you then choose. On a basic level, they give you the option of being good and evil. They give reasons why you should choose one or the other (moral, functional, etc.) and depending on what you find more appealing, you then choose. And they gave options, but not much in the reasoning. In case of a faulty story, WRPGs then rely on other RPG elements (quests, smithing, etc.) and the fighting. The former was decent but got didn't feel worthwhile doing, and the action got repetitive. It was good in the beginning in which my level was lower and I had to adhere to fighting people in a specific way (certain enemies were weak and strong against each of the three classes) and it was fun fighting a mix-matched group of enemies in such a way. But once you got strong enough, that became irrelevant. Also, choosing the right weapons and armor put you had a huge advantage despite your level. That is why the had they gave you the ability to switch between fighting styles and class types. However, once you find one that works, there is little chance in someone changing it. Even if you do, you won't be developing from the beginning as you can take all your points and put them into something else, skipping the developmental stage of your class building which is the fun part.

Leonoved: I need to go back in and complete Amalur. I talked a few friends into buying Amalur because they loved the combat. The Crafting wasn't to bad either

josh813: i thought KOA's mechanics were annoying like not being able to jump when there were small drops that they could have easily let us jump off of or ankle high fences that i had to walk all the way around and that they only had four skill slots but more then enough points to put in to skills so that i had all of the usable mage skills mastered just a little over half way through but could only use half of them, and the best part of that was that they acknowledged it was a problem in the game buy giving a tip that " you should go into the menu during battle and switch out your skills then exit the menu use the skill go back into the menu and do it again" it just got really annoying to play for me.
12/7/12 7:09pm
Custers Revenge: I don't the complaints about KOA's story. Every single side quest has a story attached to it. That's pretty damn impressive because every town or settlement you go into or even on the road has people who need your help and some very valid reasons for your assistance, plus it feels like you're making a difference as the hero. The main quest is solid, it wasn't made to blow your mind but it is a good fantasy RPG story that isn't full of cliches like Dragon Age. There's a great part where you help win this massive war which does have it's share of sacrifice but it really feels like it would never have happened if you weren't there.

Plus with KOA, I like how the fighting styles all feel very different like a warrior has their weapon specializations and cool special attacks. A mage feels totally different, a roll gets replaced with a teleport move, the magic styles are all very different and they upgrade in amazing ways, and melee weapons like a staff really bring a new way to fight. Then for the rogue style you can play the whole game as a stealth game, all the AI is programed in case you want to use stealth, plus you could even be more of an agile fighter with daggers or focus more on using a bow. Everything was very polished and well thought out for a brand new IP.

CaztheGamerGuy: Haven'tr tried either (you'll find out why soon enough) but an interesting read to see someone else's perspective on these two new IPs.
