This being a site full of nerds I assume at least some of you are into Buffy, so I found some religious undertones in the episode 'Superstar'

Before this game ratings in the UK were guidelines, but now they are legally enforceable.

Janos: This is a good thing. It just is. No more stupid kids playing games they shouldn't be playing in the first place for the right reasons.

...however, this still doesn't solve the problem of "the stupid parents not knowing shit and buying games their kids shouldn't be playing and then later bitch about the games and the company" problem.

There needs to be a law that would require those parents to stop being ignorant. Unfortunately, that is not possible.

OverpoweredGopher: I was under the impression tht this was always the case. I found it highly amusing tht a woman on the news said "well theres going to be far less confusion when buying my children games now" (I believe this was related to PEGI and BFFC combination, despite there being so little difference and the age ratings being almost identical).
Cant help but think this is just going to be used by the media to hate on vidya games more.

GoldenMasterSword: That's one less country worth of raging kids on CoD!

Seraphna: Single most useless law ever passed by Parliment, ever. The UK's retailers have been enforcing PEGI for years now, games that aren't rated for kids already DON'T get sold to kids. Parents are the ones with the money to buy the games for their kids, and this law doesn't prohibit that in the slightest. In short, all that's happened here is Parliment attempting to look like PEGI was their idea. Good one.

Seriously, this accents the points my old group, GAAC, used to make about the ESRB, it's already enforced, retailers actually have zero tolerance firing policies for the sale of adult rated games to kids, but the governments aren't content to listen to that, by their logic, if kids get ahold of the games, it's not the fault of their parent or guardian who should be supervising them, but the people selling the games. Horrible logic there.

HyperGamer: Pretty much exactly how I feel on the matter too. It should not need to be the government's job to stop kids from playing games inappropriate for them but seeing as a large portion of parents seem to either not care or more likely not understand this is necessary. There is no problem with violence in video games. Just with kids playing games not appropriate for them.

This is what I'd like to see from the Big N this year at E3.

Baleoce: * Don't care about a crossover, but I'd love to see new Metroid/Starfox games.
* Majoras Mask 3D, yes please. Would love it.
* Revamp of Virtual console would be nice, mostly what I'm concerned with is them making sure that we can tag our purchases to an online account after Nintendo Network is out. This is the bare minimum I think we should expect. Tbh also, we are in an internet age now where we should be able to expect online co-op play through our retro games that we have gone to the trouble of repurchasing. If emulation can do it then...
* I know what you mean about the circle pads. But if you are in to fighters, you can get a Tatsunoko v Capcom stick for like $15 lol. It's the same build quality as SE madcatz sticks (actually ever so slightly better) and if the Wii U can use Wiimotes, then itll use that stick. It's not TE standard, but still you cant go wrong for that price. But as for your specific point, I see what you mean. If it's any consolation, the analogue stick on the 360 is far more tolerable than the PS3 ones for such actions.
* F Zero, absolutely. It would be ridiculously good.
* Steam yes, I am already heavily invested in steam so I'd love this lol.. Also I think their ideals would fit each other nicely.
* DLC also agreed, but I have a feeling we can trust Nintendo on this one (at least from a first party perspective. What other publishers do is their business I guess).
