Nintendo Claims Ownership on YouTube Videos

Figcoinc: I've been hearing reports of this too. A friend of ScrewAttack "PeanutButterGamer" has recently been given a strike, and he is with "The Game Station." I know he is bummed about that for multiple reasons. He loves Nintendo.

Fond3ll: The only thing that's different between this and what Microsoft and SEGA did is that people won't get a warning on their account for copyright infringement. According to Reddit this has even affected partners on partner communities like Machinima and they actually have the correct licenses.

Figcoinc: I completely agree. As time goes on this will hopefully sort itself out. Plus, there is no information on how this will effect partnered channels. It is the partnership groups overall job to get the license so that people can put ads on their site. That is how it is supposed to work. So only time will tell.

Plus, it is WAY better than what MS and especially Sega has been doing.

ElijahRice: I do agree with what you are saying. What I think would be a better way of doing it would be if Nintendo shared the revenue, or even partnerd with the lets players. I will say I think Nintendo is going about this much better than Sega or Microsft did.
I do think it is important to protect your brand or ips, but I also understand why this will be such a problem. Like what will this mean fo the AVGN, or Game Grumps, will they continue? who knows. I will say this is a mixed bag, and we will have to see what happens.

Write Something...in your retro remixes do you only do short games or like would you consider an RPG if you would i or you are a fan of that type of game style i incourage you to check out legends of dragoon for the ps1 if you can get a chance

Figcoinc: Thank you for the feedback! I love RPG's, and trying to find a way to do a Retro Remix on a RPG. I try to keep the videos around 5-7 minutes because after that people tend to stop watching. So I am trying to find a good way to showcase great RPG games. So they will come soon! Legend of Dragoon was a great game! Great suggestion! :-D
