Ghost King's Wall

Dear Microsoft: I bought Skyrim, Persona 4 Arena, Dead Rising 2, Halo Reach on top of bunch of DLC, all new, all for your console, because I had the option to play the predecessors of these games when they were used, and I convinced my friends to buy these games as well. I had faith in their ability to deliver because I gained trust in the brand. I don't take 60$ shots in the dark nearly as much as a 20$ one until trust is earned. And now you're going to fee us for borrowing and buying used games? A 5$ fee I can understand, but I highly doubt it's going to be less than 15$. On top of that, binding a disc to a harddrive? Do you know how much harddrive space games take nowadays? What are you trying to sell, a PC? I got one of those already. Besides, I own more Xbox 360 games than I do for any other console, and maybe 4 of them are both good and exclusive to the system, so I honestly don't trust your claim that you want to focus on exclusives. I think I'll pass on this generation of Xbox, thank you.

Funny how one blog on a controversial issue gets more comments than probably all of my other blogs in the past several months combined.
Ghost King: True. Then again, controversy breeds more discussion than standard reviews or lists, even though i don't plan to write too many of the former.
LightningandIce: Well, it did get promoted to front page.

A g1's take on the opposite side of this recent internet backlash. Basically, I don't see what everyone is freaking out about.
darkhyrulelord: I could see both sides on this. On Nintendo's perspective, it is a good amount of potential money that they are losing over this. However, on the other side, isn't a video on the gameplay from the LPer practically an advertisement for the game company in of itself?
Ghost King: If you don't have the patience to read it, don't bother wasting time commenting on it because frankly you look pretty bad in doing so. This contributes absolutely nothing to anyone.
Jeff1pnt3: * I think (and take up the beef with Kwing, not me)
Jeff1pnt3: And I'd like to know why it's fair for journalists(game reviewers) who WERE working with Nintendo, should't get paid to promote their games. I guess film critics and Newspaper journalists (who report and promote certain companies/movies) shouldn't get paid either then, huh. But hey, we all know you can't explain why. :\
OddRocker: Too Long. Got Bored

That one obligatory list, part 2.
LightningandIce: It took me way too long to read this. Every time I got started, I got interrupted. It was worth the wait, though. It's shaping up to be unique list, and a joy to read.
Noble Team 1: I actually really liked Super Mario Sunshine and I kind of wish that maybe we can see another game like that just with a better camera system as that's my only complaint about Sunshine it's camera system makes so parts rather tough due to it, and I'm ready to see what games come up in Part 3.

Every now and again I like to blog about the music I like to listen to, so here is a bit of a review of one of my own personal favorite Prog Metal albums.

That one obligatory list, part 1.
Ghost King: That's why the 360 version of BK is so good. They got rid of that glitch that makes you lose your collectibles upon death.
darkhyrulelord: Good list so far Ghost king!
#25. OoT may be slightly overrated but it is a classic that still must be played by all. I mean, it has freaking Ganondorf in it so already that should make it the top priority!
#24. I found this game to be OK, but the fact that you lose all collectables in a level when you die kind of turned me off.
I haven't played 23 or 22.
#21. I need to try this game out sometime since people always need some Frank West.

Flapperdoodle: Very well written Ghost King. I enjoyed reading this a ton.
Molmoran: Most of my top 5's are JRPGs. I'll hope my favourites get a high rating.
Ghost King: It'll be varied at first...but all of my top 5 are JRPGs. It's just the genre I've delved into most and got most attatched to.

A rant about the worst of the 4 seasons by far.
Ghost King: Like I said in my response to Flashpenny, I exaggerated to an extent and left things out for the sake of the overall tone of the rant. After all, the whole point of this rant was kind of trivial to begin with, so I kept it as negative and peevish as possible, as obviously there are some benefits to Spring like being the prime growing season for a lot of the food we eat (pretty darn important). I do actually respect Memorial Day and appreciate that there are people out there who have fought and given their lives for the privileges that we take for granted, and there a number of military vets who went to fight and die for genuinely good personal reasons. That said, I could get into a long argument about my problems with the military action in general, and I will say I wish the troops would make a statement about us fighting battles that really aren't about "protecting us" or "just" any more, but I feel as if this isn't really the place or time for a long essay about the matter.
firehazard51: "Memorial Day: As big a history buff as I am, and as glad as I am to get a day off in May (FINALLY), Memorial Day doesn't have much meaning to me. I'm growing increasingly disillusioned and frustrated with the United States' military's foreign actions, so a day honoring the Military loses a lot of meaning on me."
You sir are missing the whole point of Memorial Day. If anything focus on those who gave their life to wars that you agreed with. But don't EVER assume a soldier who fights in a war also is all for that war. Soldiers don't start wars, politicians do. Soldiers just fight them because that's what they are told to do. They have zero input on weather the war is just or not.

Elmo 3000: Nothin' like a good ole' rant to get the blood flowing and the fist pumping and the noun verbing. Great blog!
LightningandIce: I lol'd. Good job.
Spring is my least favorite season, but I don't hate it. Where I live, we get a lot of snow, which usually lasts until mid-to-late April. By the time spring hits, everybody is is dying to be able to get outdoors and enjoy the nice weather again. It's nice to be able to hit the trails on my four wheeler again, or go for a walk without wearing eighteen layers of clothes.
At the same time, how busy my job is, is directly proportional to how nice the weather is. So once the snow melts, work gets crazy.

My choices for ten best pages in Paper Mario's Storybook. (5-1)
darkhyrulelord: Yeah, I agree with flash on #5. That place has far too many places that look too similar and you can get lost rather easily.
#2 and 1 are awesome though! My faves are the final chapters for sure.

Ghost King: I have a guide book so I didn't get that lost :V
I felt the good points more than made up for the flaws.

Noble Team 1: It's more the fact that after all the smack that Rawk put out made him definitely someone you wanted to beat up asap, though when it came to the Doopliss chapter there was some backtracking, but it honestly wasn't anything bad in contrast to other rpgs so I liked it in part due to the setting as well.
Flashpenny: I'm going to have to disagree on # 5. I like the Underwhere well enough but the Overthere levels are more Hellish than the Hell levels. Just the mundane going back and forth between the same 2 locations, trying to figure out what to do while listening to music that sounds like what plays in the head of someone who lives in a padded room with a straitjacket makes it one of my least-favorite video game levels period.
I do wholly agree with # 1 though. That whole part of the game was classic and the Crystal Palace in particular was awesome.

Ghost King: I don't see what everyone likes about Rawk Hawk. He's cool and all, but not my favorite character in Chapter 3.
Doopliss' Chapter was rather cool and memorable...but the problem was the chapter was ridiculous in terms of backtracking. Go to Twilight Town, go halfway to the steeple, go back to town, go to the steeple, go back to town, go back to the steeple, go back to town, go back to the steeple. It got old.
