Today on Hard News, EA's new MOBA "Dawngate" and closing their Online Pass system, and Nintendo dooms Let's Play channels.

TwistoFate: I'm sorry, but I still cannot see your point at all, LPs are very unlikely to create a steady source of income unless the person is super popular which is exceedingly hard to do with competition like Pewdipie, The Runaway Guys, and Nakateleeli. LPin CAN be a secure job, but right now it definitely isn't with game companies making sudden and surprising decisions left and right.
Also who in their right mind would start being an LPer to gain money anyway? History has shown that those who do something creative purely for money end up making something that is lackluster and disappointing. Most LPers start LPs to entertain and inform other gamers, they are either in college or already have a job so any income they get from their videos is just convenient.

Badalight: There are hundreds of lets players that use it as their main source of income - and some of them can EASILY provide for their families. The average LPer no... but someone like PewdiePie literally makes millions of dollars - of course he is by FAR the most popular but the point still stands. It's easily possible to be make well above minimum wage.
And if anything, lets playing is a more secure job than most nowadays. People are getting laid off left and right (just look at the game industry) but let players can't be laid off. The only thing they have to worry about are cases like these. It's an incredibly secure job under normal circumstances.

PSap29: I know right? When people said Jared looked bored on Hard News, Sidescrollers, and Screwin Around, I didn't get it. Sam flat out doesn't give a shit. I really wish Chad would kick him off of SideScrollers, because you can tell he doesn't want to be there.
Sam also ruined the second game of Mario Party 9 on MP After Dark. They kept landing on spaces that mixed up the turn order, but Sam was ALWAYS first. The problem is, Sam is infamous for taking FOREVER to roll. It made the last half hour or so of that game unbearable. Not to mention Chad and Jared just sat there for a half hour.

Here's the deal, I could post everything that feminists lie about, whether it comes to falsified statistics, anything to do with patriarchy, etc. I really could sit here and type out, and explain why feminism is one of the worst and most destructive groups in many years, but there's a woman on youtube who explains it much better. YES. An actual woman who is an anti-feminist. See feminism isn't automatically synonymous with women and their rights. Her name is GirlWritesWhat on youtube. She's so intelligent and well spoken that she has been officially invited to be on Joe Rogan's podcast. Here is her speaking at a Libertarian convention. The video here is over an hour long, but her videos are usually much shorter.

Anti_Hipster: I totally agree with you. Unfortunately, I believe that we're already that type of society. We're in third wave feminism. Fourth Wave feminism, which is what Sweden is nearly at, hopes to achieve all of the "privilege" that feminists say that white males have had. The hypocrisy is astounding. They say how horrible "privilege" is, and then make their goal to gain that very thing. If Fourth Wave feminism is as successful in America as first, second and third wave, then it's going to be a scary place here, or the Western world in general.
To further illustrate the point that we are already in the society you speak of, there was a quote that I like.
"To find out who's in charge, just find who you're not allowed to criticize".
Feminists and women definitely fit this bill. If you criticize feminism, you run risk of being called a "misogynist" or a "bigot".

spinner981: I try to get the people who are offended by such a thing to think about why they are offended by it. It comes down to their personal opinion and that is it, and their personal opinion isn't what makes something sexist. They need to understand that the reasons for their own complaining are pointless and arbitrary. People that see the world through their own made up ideals need to be told this non-stop or else we run the risk of becoming a society where personal feelings matter way to much and entitlement runs amok.

RealAlphaMail: Whenever I think of sexism I always think of double standards. Would I be insulted if the sexes were reversed? If yes then it could be considered sexist, but if my female boss had the male picture on her wall I wouldn't care in the slightest (aside from the hypocrisy, but that's beside the point). I'm also curious how the female employees would have felt if the poster had been the male version, I doubt they would have thought it sexist either. At the end of the day it's all about double standards, how can we have true equality with that attitude. That being said if it was just meant as a harmless joke and not a stab at sexism then it was pretty good (though if guys had done it we would have probably heard an uproar from the gay community).

Not sure how this plays into the PS4 launch, but what evs...
Fond3ll: Let me guess... It will be exactly the same crap as the first game, just with better graphics. Hooray... -_-
Mcgunn: I honestly think this is good timing. The PS3 is going to continue to be an amazingly popular console for a long time to come. Let GT 7 wait for the powers of the PS4 to get unlocked by others. And now it won't be competition for that other driving Sim for PS4 that the developer was creaming his pants over.
Dcmac: It was obvious it was heading for the PS3. Every system has had two instalments of Gran Turismo.
Metroidvania98: This was announced ages ago. I thought everyone knew that GT6 was coming to the PS3 already.

Bringing the developer in all of us to the surface.
colito201: Speaking from personal experience, the student's will spend an entire year to learn things that shouldn't be rushed in such a short time span. It takes more that a single year to learn what is needed to be a viable employee in the video game industry. Just because some kids manage to complete the program does not mean that they will even be able to get a job. Remember the infamous catch 22, cannot get the job due to lack of work experience - cannot get work experience without the job. And besides, unless you're a programmer the certificate/diploma that one would get at the end is as valuable as TP. What's really important is the Demo Reel (Video Portfolio) that they will need to make. Without that, it's just a waist of $10,000.

I'll go simply for the magic of waiting in line for something like that. The last time I remember playing a game installed in a store was Zelda: Majora's Mask (in a corner with Deku Link spinning around in a ditch, but that's besides the point). The point is that the PS4 has some catching-up to do.
