Ever since Mario Kart DS, there has been a tradition of re-creating tracks from previous Mario Kart Games to be enjoyed by a new audience. And for Mario Kart U, I expect no different. So this time, for my next (and hopefully last) article on Mario Kart U, I give my ideas for tracks that should appear in Mario Kart U.
Wii Mario Circuit
DS Cheep Cheep Beach
3DS Music Park
GBA Boo Lake
GCN Dry Dry Desert
3DS Neo Bowser City
GBA Cheep Cheep Island
SNES Mario Circuit 4
N64 Royal Raceway
GBA Sunset Wilds
DS Tick Tock Clock
Wii Grumble Volcano
SNES Vanilla Lake 2
3DS DK Jungle
GCN Bowser's Castle
N64 Rainbow Road
And that is it, see you again, soon!

With the Wii U on the horizon, a fourth entry in the Super Smash Bros franchise is inevitable, and everybody is making lists of who they want to appear in the next . While I have my own personal list, many people have already said who I want (King K. Rool!) and yet, many I hardly ever see on such lists. That is why I am here to count down the people I would like to see, yet nobody else has mentioned them.
#5: Ray 101 Mk II (Custom Robo)
Why he should be in: I remember playing the Custom Robo game for Gamecube, and it was loads of fun, blasting enemies all while customizing your own robot fighter, complete with guns! It would be just so aweome if Ray 101, the mascot of the series, appears in Super Smash Bros. He could blast away opponents with his weapons, and provide some more realistic characters that would appeal to older audiences.
Why he wouldn't be in: According to Custom Robo, the Robos are only a few centimeters tall, and they would be pathetically small compared to the competition. In addition, the fact that you can customize robos with all sorts of weapon combinations would mean that Nintendo would have to settle for a default weapon loadout, not exactly very "custom", now is it?
#4: Funky Kong (Donkey Kong Country)
Why he should be in: A rather off the wall choice, Funkey Kong is the surfer character of the Kong family. He has also held many professions including a mechanic, pilot, and weapons specialist. He is also the considered the best character in Mario Kart Wii. If Funky appeared, he would use all those fruit bazooka weapons he made in Donkey Kong 64 (Best Game Ever!) to bring a lot of explosive punch to the fight.
Why he wouldn't be in: Funky himself is stated to be someone who dislikes adventure, a stark contrast to his cousins, Donkey and Diddy. But the biggest problem is that he would be to similar to Donkey Kong, being a large ape. Plus, if I hade to chose between Funky and King K. Rool, I would most likely choose K. Rool.
#3 The Koopalings (Super Mario Bros.)
Why they should be in: I played Super Mario World on my Game Boy Advance as a kid, and I remember just how awesome these guys were. When I heard that they were making a comeback in New Super Mario Bros Wii, I was expecting them to be playable in Mario Kart, Mario Tennis, and all sorts of other Mario spinoffs. But it never happened, instead creating Baby Daisy (grumble, grumble,). So I think that an appearance in the next SSB would be nice for them.
Why they wouldn't be in: Unless Nintendo was really desperate, I don't think they'd pad out the list so that all seven would be playable, let alone that they would most likely play the same as eachother. Considering they are still rather minor characters, maybe they would work best as an assist trophy, they would be a much more colorful addition than Bowser Jr.
#2: Snivy, Tepig, and Oshawott (Pokemon)
Why they should be in: These are my three favourite starter Pokemon out of any generation. But that isn't the only reason that they should be playable. They easily overshadow Pikachu in the second Pokepark game, and the Pokemon Trainer in Super Smash Bros. Brawl proved that such a character type could be done. Just replace Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard with these three and you're all set!
Why they wouldn't be in: Generations of Pokemon come and go rather quickly, it is very likely that when the next Super Smash Bros. game is released, and entirley new generation of Pokemon would be there to replace them, rendering these three outdated. If they were to appear in the next Super Smash Bros., the fifth generation of Pokemon must still be going by then.
#1: Shadow the Hedgehog (Sonic the Hedgehog)
Why he should be in: Move over, Metal Sonic, Shadow the Hedgehog is the real dark Sonic in the house. Shadow is the most popular character in the Sonic franchise besides the blue blur himself, and has a fan following that rivals Sonic's own. Shadow would work to expand the villain roster (anti-heroes count as villains, like Wario) and would be a heaping load of SEGA fan service. He has already apeared in Brawl as an assist trophy, and I am simply stunned that nobody has mentioned that he should be playable.
Why he wouldn't be in: Alright, to be fair, there are quite a few reasons why Shadow couldn't appear in the next Super Smash Bros. The first is that even though he has alot of fans, he also has alot of haters in the fanbase (even though they are wrong.) People also have sour taste of the character after his self-titled game in which he uses guns to kill. Also, if he were to appear, he would almost certainly be a clone character of Sonic. But to me, the biggest reason is that his appearance would be all based on if Sonic himself is playable, which I actually don't think is very likely (I would much rather see a Nintendo vs. SEGA crossover fighting game, anyway.)
So, that's my list of characters that I would like to see in the next Super Smash Bros. game. Disagree with me? It's my opinion, and you should respect that, but post your own list of characters in a comment below!

2012 was... dissapointing, to say the least for video games this year. The industry slumped do to lack of AAA games, stiff competition from Smartphones and Tablets, and many games being pushed back to 2013. Which is why we're right here, right now.
I am going to list off the games I can't wait to play in the new year. But before we start, here are some honorable mentions:
- Shantae and The Pirate's Curse: While Shantae was always a cute looking character, I never played any of her games, which is why this only gets an honorable mention.
- Yoshi Land: A rumored game that is supposedly being developed by Retro Studios, the makers of the Metroid Prime Trilogy and Donkey Kong Country Returns. Because of Dow much I enjoyed DKCR, I really am interested, sadly, it's only a rumor.
- Anarchy Reigns: While it is a very nifty $29, and part of my favorite publisher, the game just isn't the top of my list.
- Untitled Sonic the Hedgehog Game: Sega has announced a new Sonic the Hedgehog game in 2013. However, there is a lack of details about it and so it doesn't make the cut. I hope it's a sequel to Sonic Chronicles, but for the love of god, make sure it isn't released next to Modern Warfare 4, Call of Duty beats everything in terms of sales.
With all that out of the way, let's get started!

I was never really into Tomb Raider, oh sure, I heard all the stuff about Lara Croft being one of the first female protagonist of video games. So, from that talk alone, I have learned that Lara Croft is up there with the likes of Mario, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Master Chief. However, Lara's popularity has waned in recent years thanks to a lack of big-budget releases and being replaced by Nathan Drake of 'Uncharted'.
