logicallydashing: You can get ad revenue through Twitch too, right? I wonder if that may be a way around it. So far, Nintendo has only targeted YouTube but I'm curious to see if other game companies start doing this also.
psb123: Boycotting Nintendo sounds a bit extreme. If you upload any LP, Nintendo or not, and have ads on it then you run the risk of it being taken down as it's a game companies content. I also have to disagree with Nintendo alienating the LP community. They are not taking down the LP's just making it so that Ads are essentially useless on them now. For people who make a living off of LP's this does mean they will have to find another way to support themselves but it's not like they were never at risk for this. It's just that now the potential consequences for putting ads on LP are becoming a reality. Also as a video maker I can safely say there is far more to making videos than earning money through youtube.
Fond3ll: Boycotting Nintendo would be the best way to go. LPers who make just enough money to survive and have a lot of Nintendo games on their channel really don't have a choice other than to stop playing them. Who wants to waste time and effort on making SSMB videos maybe twice a week and get absolutely nothing for it? I sure know I wouldn't. In that case it's better to play a different game from another company that doesn't act like dicks towards people who essentially give them tons of free ads and has made it into a job. Disabling ads on videos would be exactly the same as giving 100% of the ad revenue away and Youtube doesn't really pay all that well unless you have hundreds of thousands of views a week. Just because the rule is there doesn't mean you have to enforce it, but if you choose to (like in Nintendo's case) you're only hurting your own company and you'll automatically get "ASSHOLE" stamped across your forehead. You don't help the LP community one bit by doing this. You alienate it.
AgentKane: If that is the case then switch games. There are more games in the world other than first party Nintendo titles.
logicallydashing: Everything isn't fine if you're trying to make a living from LPs, though. If you disable ads, then no one gets monetization and instead YouTube will likely just take it down. If you are monetizing, Nintendo takes the whole pot.

darkhyrulelord: AI partners can work, but it has to be done right. Don't make them worse than the player....or better for that matter.
MagnumMagnus: I can't help but notice the distinct lack of male escorts. And anyone who makes a joke about my choice of words can go fuck themselves.
Battleiguana: In my opinion Ashley wasn't that hard to protect so I do not mind the escort missions in RE:4

In what world does a game need four different special editions!?
Tjoeb123: Yessir! Japan obviously got it a few years back, and had a special edition that came with a White Rock Shooter figma or something. That's why I post on Gawker's (the guys who power Kotaku, Gizmodo, Lifehacker, etc.) new Kinja blogging/commenting system. I wish I had screenshots, though, but the PS Vita won't allow you to take screenshots of a PSP (or PS1) games so I couldn't get any. And I didn't really want to hunt through Google Images to get the screens I want, either.
I've also seen both the anime series and OVA (after completing the game), and I honestly like the game more than I do the anime or OVA (though I like the OVA more than the anime series). I can't say I'm surprised that you've heard of it, as I've never heard anything of this either until NISA posted the trailers on YouTube (I'm subscribed to both their JP and US channels). Funny how A FUCKING SONG (by..uh...Hat..s-sun..e....M-Mik..u....yeah, I blush a little!) - that I love listening to, and is the anime series' OP theme, by the way - resulted in a OVA, then a PSP JRPG, and an anime series (in that order)...

OmegaSoldierX: Like I said, some special editions are well worth the time and money. As for people who just what the extra stuff, I'm not so sure in that front. However, to people who just want the DLC, that's where the Game of the Year Editions come into play. Don't want to shove all your money for DLC? Wait a year for the GotY Edition, and you're set. Borderlands 1 & 2, along with Batman: Arkham City are prime examples of this Edition. Take notes, EA!

Toxin_Polaris: i can agree and disagree with this. while its true that this whole "Special,Moar Special,Uber Special, So Special that it makes Jesus jizz thinking about it" stuff needs to stop. But on the Other Hand. I rarely buy new games but mostly used ones why? most shops like gamestop have new used game shortly after release and the price drops down around 20€ (in some cases more). But once in a while there is a Game that i like and that i want to place in my shelfs and lock good so im mostly fine with steelbox editions but there are some boxes that are simply amazing. That Old Heros of Might and Magic Complete Edition Box was Awesome granted i allready owned all the games i still bought it because it looks good has some nice extras and well everything was good.
But there is something thats bugging me more and more lately.. and thats the quality of the Special Items. Anybody who got the Sons of Sparada Editon of DMC might painfully know what i´m talking about that necklace is shit its ugly and a piece of junk.
