However, your idea of losing your data being easy with digital games is a little out dated. Steam gives you a serial number that you own and you can write down. With that serial number comes the right to play the game. If worst comes to absolute worst you can just bring up PirateBay, download your game, use your serial number, and there you go. People just need the right to trade that serial number.

Between work, school, and wives/girlfriends, it is a real struggle to get all my friends together in one place to do some gaming. Might get to all hang out once a month with careful planning. Once kids enter the picture I imagine it will be even trickier. That is why online gaming is great. We get to keep in touch, hang out, and all game together, even if we aren't in the same room. It is much less of a hassle to send someone a text and see if they want to jump on live and play for an hour or so. Not to mention, many of my friends and extended family live all over the country, couch co op just isn't an option at those distances.
Keep an eye out for my other articles that will be coming this way soon, I can't post them here until a month after my exclusivity contract expires with my employer, but I'm sure you'll enjoy the rest when they arrive :)
