deChakra: The below link gives a pretty good nuanced history about the state of Nintendo EA relations. However Sean is right, this wasn't a technical decision, it was a business decision. I am puzzled at why the they are being needlessly dishonest about it. It reinforces EA's image of being unscrupulous company to consumers, and sure doesn't help it relations with Nintendo either.

King Meatball I: From what I've read on other sites, Eurogamer and their source made their guess with only about half of all the parts and pieces known. Its very possible the Wii U's actual specs are a bit stronger.

It was also assumed the Wii U was going to be underpowered anyways when compared to the next PS4 and Xbox.
