HighScore isn't about gameplay or graphics, it's about a game's music. A game like F-Zero? That has some great music.
DonanFear: You should do some fact checking before making your videos. The first SuperFX-game was StarFox and was released years later. F-Zero used mode 7 that was built in and didn't need any extra chips. Mode 7 is used to stretch and rotate 2d images (there's nothing fake about it, there's no optical illusion) while SuperFX was used to draw polygons. 5 minutes on google or wikipedia and you could have avoided those errors.
Also, I don't really get your complaint about lack of variety. It's a futuristic racing game, fast-paced futuristic/electronic rock is what fits best imho. Using that same logic SMW is even less varied, everyting sounds kinda orchestral and they even reuse the same melody on every song.

ruinedmirage: I majored in music in college. I think it's one of the most important aspects of experiencing this form of entertainment. For me, truly great music has to be memorable for one thing. If I can recall how the song goes without it playing and/or tell you what it's from within the first few beats, that qualifies in the 90's rating. Also, the mood must also make me want to buy and listen to the whole OST. I also don't mind third parties in the mix, like WipEout series did (my personal favorite, hence my tag, also). Also, if you're into the techno-style with HUGE variety and quality, please review Einhander!
jonwvsu: I would like to hear samples of the music longer and more often. I also want to see some Sonic the Hedgehog action.
Alriik: Alright, first time seeing this, so lemme go in fresh. I have a few nitpicks, but I enjoyed the show overall. I'm just gonna point out a few things that iffed me. One, you kinda slipped over your words a bit. It happens to everyone, but it'd improve the show's overall quality to do different takes, eliminating the slip ups. It wouldn't take much work, and would improve the quality of the show immensely. Secondly, I like the good teacher 'You start at 100 and go down' mindset, but the absolute lack of variety, I think would have pulled more from the score. I personally love the F-Zero themes (BIG BLUE! FUCK YEAH!), but they really don't have much difference in feel or tone. I understand you mentioned this, but I personally think it'd pull more. Anyway, I like the show, and now, I'm following you.

frankhaggar972: Mvc3 version is my fave. Very fun to hear this when I play Team Fortress 2. Just work a bit on the delivery and your set!

darkhyrulelord: While a few of the songs are OK, most of them are very, VERY good. Many of them have been remixed in other games as well, like in Circle of the Moon.

Linklex7: Great review. Consider me a subscriber. I love Castlevania 4. I think SOTN is an awesome game but I still believe Castlevania 4 is the best game int he series. My favorite theme is Simon's Theme. It just gets you so hyped and when you hear it near the end of your battle with Dracula it just feels so damn heroic. I'm surprised more games haven't done this over the ages. Change the final boss music halfway through to something more heroic. Let you know you've almost reach that goal.

The Lindstrand: I don't really agree with you when it comes to if the songs would work on modern gen.
If you fully orchestrat or re-record the songs with real instruments, I believe that they'd work.
Ofcourse you can't just put them in any random game, though.
