In this double review Woodyman takes a look at Alien Hominid and Castle Crashers from The Behemoth.
5/25/13 4:02am
Hiatus: This is the best double review I have ever read.
5/24/13 1:36pm
Treasure Hunter: I really enjoyed Alien Hominid. I've only played the demo for Castle Crashers; I need to get the full version one of these days.
5/24/13 1:29pm
Noble Team 1: I really enjoyed Castle Crashers that I bought it again on Steam though using a keyboard was a bit tough to use for the PC version, but to me the best thing about this game has to be the music.
5/24/13 10:18am
Molmoran: I love Castle Crashers, it's the only game my friends will play with me after becoming tyrannical when playing Streets of Rage. I haven't played Alien Hominid, but I think I'll give it a go! Cheers for the post!
5/24/13 9:52am
The Stickman: Both are great, so that's not really a bad thing.

On this episode of Woodyman's Pokemon Emerald 386 Adventure we add our 5th member, and meet a fossil tease.
Molmoran: Aww, no decisions this time?

Today on Woodyman's Pokemon Emerald 386 Adventure, we got sloppy with a new Pokemon, and befriend Charles Darwin.
Woodyman: Yes flawless... I totally didnt edit out my losses
Woodyman: I almostlost too
Woodyman: Sorry Twitter is the fairest way I saw
The Guardian: Quite the episode, extended edition. Also, your reference to the first episode of Pokemon made me happy.
Need Twitter to participate? Awww, but I wanted to play too...

InAmberClad: lol Quite the epic journey dude. I always despise going against Wattson but fortunately for you you had a Fire-type.

In a side by side comparison Woodyman determines which game is better, Mortal Kombat 9 or Super Street Fighter IV.
darkhyrulelord: I haven't played SSIV but I am interested in playing it...even if I might get my butt kicked. I did like MK9....A LOT. The Challenge tower was evil, but it was quite the epic journey to get there. I also did like the Story mode immensely. Online was OK, but local matches were a lot of fun. I honestly think that it might have been the game of the year for that year since it was just so....so much better than I ever would have thought.
Korahn: Luckily, I don't need to decide which is better as I too have them both. Of course, I've mainly been playing Injustice as far as 2d fighters go right now.
NODlike: I like both games, although the story and challenge tower in MK give it the edge for me. And the Vita version has an additional "bonus" challenge tower with 150 new missions. Some bonus!
Baleoce: I know one has to, but neither of them deserve to win the training mode contest. They are so below par in that respect. Even Capcom admitted to leaving out a visible hitbox option because it "didn't look nice". Also online training mode should have been a thing in SF4.
The challenges are fine and all for a short while, but you will soon realize that a lot of those combos are not worth your time, and are really not the training drills you should be working on for your character in order to maximize your punishes. It is a fun little throwaway mode, but it has far more potential than that.
They should allow a challenge option to only allow you to progress from each challenge when you complete a custom (or static) amount of the same combo in one go. Because *that's* how you learn them, not just by fluking it once. There's no merit in finally finding the right spacing for a combo, and then immediately moving on.
For SF5 I'd like to see a custom combo creator in the challenges engine. I know you could just do this in training mode, but I think it's important to be able to see your progress in some kind of visually represented form over time. That way you can tailor your challenges to keep up with current character standards too.
Also, a CPU example of the combo being performed along with real-time input data to teach you spacing and the finer details would be nice (you can argue it's better to learn things like this for yourself, but other games seem to do justify it just fine). For example KOF XIII, and those combos are even more complicated.

Burf12345: here's a huge problem with Super Street Fighter IV, it awards you for sucking. I mean the ultra move you get by sucking is more powerful than the super move you get by actually playing well, where's the logic in that?

Today on Woodyman's Pokemon Emerald 386 Adventure, we complete a mission and say "fuck you nature".
darkhyrulelord: *sees piles of everstones on the beach* *now I have 999 of them* Dah! It came back to haunt me!
The Guardian: Classic filler episode, didn't do anything to advance the plot, what a waste. God, I hate this show so much!
Lol at throwing away the everstone. What an asshole.

Today on Woodyman's Pokemon Emerald 386 Adventure, we win our second gym badge and a new Pokemon joins the team.
gear12: Yaaaay! I was useful!
Woodyman: He did have 1 magikarp but not 6
Woodyman: Next one will be longer I really just ran outta time this week
Molmoran: Haha, this is going to take forever!
darkhyrulelord: Quite convenient that there was a ghost type in that cave. I usually just pummel through with my starter for this one but that's a good way to beat him. Also, was that guy who needed to use the washroom the obligatory 6 Magikarp one?

Today on Woodyman's Pokemon Emerald 386 Adventure, we get our goods touched and sail with T-Pain.
Woodyman: useless pokemon, and thanks I might catch one before I try to fight the leader
darkhyrulelord: lol Smoke and Nobleteam can't learn cut. I wish you luck on the second gym. Also, I think that Peeko is a type of Pumbloom species.

Excited for Mario Party 9 After Dark on April 26th? Well let Woodyman warn you about 50 things you might see or hear during the competition.
DPUNKSTAR: I love me some Swippy Swappy and Denver the Last Dinosaur. And you forget usually someone gets super rich and then just laughs at loosing anything but a massive amount of coins usually a "Take my three coins I have plenty."
darkhyrulelord: You watched all Mario Parties in one sitting? Most impressive... I would say that most of these ring true for sure. Something I would add would be that Bowser will take someone's coin hoard eventually.
NODlike: So many truths. I can't wait for Friday. It will be the first time I can actually watch one live! Great list Woody and I hope you are feeling better.
DaRuckus: Cool, this is on my B-Day!
6ix1337: I've probably been more excited for this final MPAD than I have been for any other one before hand. Although I would have personally preferred to see Destin make an appearance than brutalmoose, I'm not complaining. That being said TEAM JARED WILL BE VICTORIOUS!!!!!!!!

Break out the Plastigoop because on this episode of WoodyStalgia, we're remembering Creepy Crawlers.
darkhyrulelord: I saw ads for this, but I never got it since it looked too messy. Now if only they came to life....then that would be something. >: )
darkhyrulelord: *eats some* ............*spits them out* yep.
NODlike: I was never into the Creepy Crawlers. And now that I think about it, I don't remember any of my friends being into them either. I do remember the commercials, but I never cared for bugs, other than the VW type.
Woodyman: Creepy Crawlers are not edible
MegaSilverX1: Was it like the Queasy Bake oven?
