A sixth playable character has been teased for Borderlands 2

3/9/13 1:20pm

During the Gearbox panel at SXSW, company reps Jonathan Hemingway and Matthew Armstrong revealed a new teaser trailer (shown above) for an upcoming piece of Borderlands 2 DLC, which will include a new playable character.

Nothing about this DLC or its new character are currently known, although from the looks of the teaser, this new vault hunter appears to be a melee specialist, capable of pulling off some really brutal attacks.

So…what do you Borderlands 2 players think? Are any of you looking forward to playing as this potentially horrific science experiment?

Ossum video quality. It looks like Taffy from Clay Fighter: http://clayfighter.wikia.com/wiki/Taffy

Cool that there's another character but still waiting for a level cap increase. That's always been my biggest gripe of this game. The first Borderlands had the level increase way sooner than this game has and it's high time because most, if not everyone has all their characters maxed out. Come on, Gearbox. Don't go EA on us.

Thats cool. I've actually had a couple Ideas for new Vault Hunters;

The Leech: Action skill allows him to absorb all bullets shot at him while the action skill is active, it also lets him gain X amount of health with each shot landed

The Repo-man: Action Skill lets him take control of an enemy for X amount of time. As the skill is upgraded he will be able to take control of more enemies at a time (up to three), even control enraged Goliaths

The Skagger: Action skill summons a trained skag to help him battle, at start its jsut a pup, as the skill progresses it eventually turns into a Badass slag skag which gains the power of any element it gets hit by. As well as gain the loyalty of nearby skags for the duration of the action skill.

with the Leech, the skill works jsut like an absorbing shield, only with 100% chance of absorbtion. With upgrades his bullets gain a chance of taking health from enemies while the skill is active.

with the Repo-Man, he can control a Goliath, so long as they aren't enraged, and at the start he cant take cotnrol of Badasses. and is completly unable to control any bosses or Constructors. With upgrades he would be able to control up to one badass at a time, even if he is able to control his max three, he is allowed only one badass and/or Goliath. When he controls an enraged Goliath he is unable to control any other enemies for the duration of the skill.

More playable characters are always welcome. Personally, I wish Sir Hammerlock was a playable character.

So, is this the reason why they still haven't fixed the save reset problem on Aliens: CM yet?

It's dead now, after that last update practically killed the 360 online community by inadvertently resetting almost everyone's save file, including my own. Now nobody plays online anymore because they don't like the idea that their save files could wiped at any time, so they figure, "Why bother?". Gearbox could've kept this game alive by actually doing SOMETHING, but they refuse to say a word about ACM and their tech support is useless.
