Black Nerd Rants on the Nintendo 2DS
Black Nerd Rants about Nintendo's decision to put out the Nintendo 2DS. The Internet is angry about the new Nintendo console. Andre couldn't care less. It's part of the continued quest by gaming companies to get young kids into gaming.

i finished dkc 1 2 and 3 but yea dkc return just makes me cry of rage too...
3:16 oh you mean like the WiiU tablet? HA ha got you there.
"We’ve got DS Lite, which I would argue is appealing to young kids as well as older consumers who play Brain Age and things of that nature… DSi and DSi XL users are playing that robust library of DS games, it really has a very broad footprint. And then we've got the 3DS, that right now is targeted toward that young adult gamer." --Reggie
3DS. Marketed towards young adults, not kids. 2DS. Marketed toward kids. You can also look at the 3DS commercials that show adults playing the console, then look at the 2DS commercial that shows kids playing it.
So it's incorrect to say that the 3DS is marketed toward kids. You're not wrong, though, when you say that just because something is marketed for one age doesn't mean it won't fit an adult. My roommate doesn't have the spare cash to pay for a 3DS or 3DSXL, but now that the 2DS is coming out, he's going to be able to get one and play Pokémon X/Y and Smash Bros. with me and our friends. Even though it's marketed for children.
It was marketed for kids. But adults are smart enough to know that there will be other games for them on the console to. Just cause it's marketed for one age doesn't mean it won't fit an adult.
So... you are saying I can make fun of my friend (who is 20+ years older than 5) for pre-ordering the 2DS?
Actually, I can't really make fun of him for it. He wants the system, and found a new version that is $70 cheaper and he doesn't care about the 3D function. Yep, 2DS could also be for adults. However, it is not for me. I already have the classic 3DS. And I think Black Nerd is right, I shouldn't care.
Except to make fun of a system that is taking away one of the primary features used to market the console in the first place. That isn't anger inducing, it is just funny.
Completely agree. I mean does anyone remember the Micro game boy advanced? No? That is because nintendo made it and NO ONE WANTED IT! But did that hurt anyone? Not really the Micro was just a failed alternate version of the gameboy advanced and it was quickly forgotten since the DS was released at nearly the same time. So as long as they aren't pulling a microsoft and forcing us to buy crap we don't want if we want to play any of their games (Looking at you kinect) then there is no problem. Like BN said just don't buy it.
Gonna be honest, I don't really care they made it; already got my 3ds.
Go look at the 3DS sales then come back and tell me with a straight face that it was marketed for kids.
lol good quotes from family guy and then whatever they got it from
Blacknerd. Thank you. I mean seriously, thank you! Besides, some of us cannot handle 3d. Ugliest system of mine was my beloved Gameboy. Either that or the Nes that was a toploader. BTW, your funny man.
Ugliest console? Off the top of my head, Atari Lynx.
Something POSITIVE about the 2DS on the Front Page of a website who so far has been pointlessly bashing it?! This is madness!
Andre, I agree with you entirely.
Everyone, promise not to make fun of the kid with the plate console on the playground. Are we all good? Cool.
You probably have the most reasonable 2DS argument...even though you don't care :P I say The Genesis attachments are ugly. I'm not saying the console or its attachments are bad, but once they're all connected, it just looks all clunky & unpleasant.
I pretty much agree here, if this was what the original 3DS model was there would be problems but no, it's just some cute little alternative that doesn't affect you at all :P
I already own a 3DS, and I have no reason to buy a 2DS. At first I laughed at the 2DS, but I quickly realized the lower price and marketing towards kids was a pretty smart move on Nintendo's part. I won't ever own the 2DS, but if you don't care about the 3D function it's a just as good cheaper alternative.
By the way I liked your Herbert impression, really creepy.
The problem is...the 3DS was marketed for kids.. so is this for the 6 and under that would burn there eyes out? is it worth spending that much money on that much of a difference of age?
I like flip phones, they're functional.
Thank you Andre. I still think the original Game Boy is the ugliest console.
