Final Fantasy X HD is on its way to PS3 and Vita

2/21/13 2:05pm

So, for years now Square Enix has been teasing for a remake for their most beloved of Final Fantasy franchise in the last decade and half, Final Fantasy VII. Well, wait no more, cause Square Enix finally listened to their fans and will deliver it to them.

A high-definition re-mastered version of Final Fantasy X on its way for both Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita. FF X was originally released for the PS2 on 2001, and it consider in regards as one of the series highs which guaranteed a direct sequel on 2003 (appropriately named FF X-2). The new HD version of the game was shown on a special PS Vita stream, with a crisp and pretty look to the main characters Tidus and Yuna. The game originally announced on Tokyo Games Show back in 2011 and since then the developers at Square Enix has been working on porting this well-known gem from PS2.

It is just amazing that how determined Square Enix on stalling any information about making a "remake" for FFVII, and don't tell me that it is not a thing and that no body care cause they clearly care enough to present the full opening segment of an enhanced version of the game way back at E3 2005. I am curious of what the other g1's think about Square Enix working on ported Final Fantasy games forever. I mean, it seems they didn't have any problem porting Kingdom Hearts which was on the same system. Thoughts?

Spoony is a dumbass who couldn't understand good story telling if his life depended upon it.

Even though I haven't played every FF,this JRPG has my favorite battle system of all time; followed closely by Legend of Dragoon ;) I'd be willing to buy again, as long as it's 15 bucks or under

I'd buy it if they give me the option to fix some voice acting although maybe revisiting I'll laugh at the infamous laughing scene too. ...for different reasons, but I'll laugh nonetheless hopefully! But Yeah... they should probably fix those damned master weapons cause some are awful. Tidus, Wakka, and ESPECIALLY Lulu come to mind.

I have been a fan of the Final Fantasy series since it first appeared in English format and I even own every version of NES, SNES, PS1, PS2 and PS3 of the games including most of the Japanese originals.

In my opinion one of the things that makes the older titles I.E. 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 rank so high on the best of all time scales is that they all had an open world aspect to them once you gained control of an airship, giving you the chance to explore the worlds completely and find many hidden areas. But since the ps3 era they seemed to have ignored this option.

I'm not sure about the rest of you, but personally I think the likes of 13 and 13-x2 would have been much better if they included an open world aspect to the game rather than the limited linear paths they had. Who knows if they return to that formula in future FF games then maybe we could finally see a game that could beat FFVII in sales and maybe, just maybe get S.E. to do a remake of it.

Its nice to see that S.E. are finally giving the fans something to hold onto and maybe just maybe there will be some great news at E3 as they stated in the Sony announcement.

I'll wait to see what the price is. Although, I might be willing to pay good money if they make the lighting dodging, chocobo racing, and butterfly catching more bearable.

Another excuse to replay this gem. I love this game. To this day, still my favourite Final Fantasy.
