This doesn't mean you can't dispute a claim, just that you cant appeal a rejected one anymore. Now we verify our account for monetization first if we want to be able to. I never do either of these anyway as they leave me open to a legal battle I don't have the resources for. That's not what REALLY pisses me off though. What REALLY pisses me off is there is no option to dispute claims individually. One of the tactics Scammers use, is piggybacking valid/upheld claims so that theirs cannot be disputed. I've had several times times where I've had a a valid/upheld non-penalizing claim piggybacked by a false claim that resulted in a block/penalization. This along with no requirement for proof of validity for a claim makes things pretty much impossible to dispute anyway as what the claimant says goes no matter what the defendant says or his proof.
What is even worse is you have groups like UMG & WMG claiming ownership over public domain material. One time WMG tried to block my Double 8Bit Remix of Handel's Halleluja Chorus.... which is public domain, by claiming to own its composition. Same thing happened with my remix of Sakura & UMG. They tried to claim ownership over the composition of "Amazing Grace" which too is public domain. This is one of the few times I have been able to overturn a claim due to having incontrovertible proof that the claims were false. Had something similar happen with my Nyan Poisoning Vid & WMG, but that was a case of mistaken content as it was a different remix of the same tune... However the claim would have been upheld had i not only provided proof that it was NOT the remix in question but also sited the source & the page that essentially provided expressed written permission for its use in the form of its usage agreement. In ALL those cases I was essentially forced to prove beyond a shadow of a doubt they were lying & making a false claim. In summation "Fair Use" doesnt mean shit on youtube
