Lousy's Top 15 Nintendo DS Games Part 1
I've decided to change things up a bit and make a video list of what is likely the best handheld I've ever owned. I'm not sure if I'll do a video Top 10/15 again, but the Nintendo DS deserves a celebration that's different from my normal routine...Even if that celebration is a few months too late.

You can never escape Pokemon...

I watched both of the lists and your choice for the top 15 was very interesting to watch since these are most of the games I have heard of, but never played.
I find Bowser's inside Story and Black and White Versions and Spirit Tracks better than the ones you mentioned but those are still some rather great games for the DS. I really want to play the Layton and the Phoenix games, but they aren't exactly common to find around here.... Contra 4 is easily one of the best DS games I've played, but I don't know if I would place it as number 1 for a game I'll mention in a second.
As for games I enjoyed that you didn't mention, there's Mario Kart DS since I had way too much fun playing against others on that demo level in long bus rides. New Super Mario Bros was a fun time waster (and what a time waster it was---in a good sense). Okamiden is an awesome game for sure and in some ways (although not most) is better than Okami. The music in that game is amazing and it has some awesome moments in there. For me, my number 1 would be a tie between Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin and Order of Ecclesia. High difficulty, perfect controls, long game, lots of replayability, amazing soundtrack, and a highly addictive experience. Good list.

As I mentioned despite loving the Metroidvania genre, I've never been able to get into how the Castlevania games make use of the formula (not that any of the 'Metroidvania' Castlevanias are bad, I do enjoy Order of Ecclesia and Sanctity of the Night). I think part of it is because they feel over-reliant on RPG/level-up mechanics, when I would prefer it if my character got stronger through collecting/exploring for power-ups. There is some of that, but I doubt anyone will disagree when I say if you grind enough in the same room in any of the 'Metroidvania' installments you can trounce just about anything in your way. That's fine with some games, but I don't think it works too well with a genre that encourages exploration.
Thank you for the comment though.

Watched both parts, good list. I've actually been looking for a DS game to rent from Lovefilm so this has given me a few ideas, kinda curious about TWEWY.
Also cool to see what you thought of ones I liked. Glad Ghost Trick was so high, I'd love a chance to play a sequel to that game.

I'd personally recommend one of the SMT (#5 entrants) games before TWEWY, but I enjoyed both of them. Glad you liked the list.

I've had literally no experience with the series so I'm not sure...

I've heard and I'm looking forward to a potential sequel. I just hope they have a better main character this time around.

You cannot help it, you have to catch 'em all!

Indeed, Pokemon is the second most addicting thing behind chocolate covered meth.
