Machinima Presents: Persona 4 Arena introductory jamboree
I can't help but to be excited for the release of the collaboration of Atlus x Arc System Works that is Persona 4 Arena. It releases on August 7, 2012 (tomorrow), so to get ahead of the game, why not enjoy a little demonstration of the game brought to us by another collaboration, this one being Cross Counter x Machinima VS. The video is 3 hours long, but the first parts of the stream include an informative tutorial of the basic mechanics of the game, followed by a little demo of tournament play, giving you a clear picture of what to expect when players become more skilled at the game. Enjoy, and I hope to see you in the Midnight Channel. ^_^
I also have to confess, that I'm also just doing this to test out my 'Video Sharing Skillz' on this site. I have to give thanks to the ScrewAttack Style Guide for giving me helpful tips on how to make helpful posts here. Why not check it for yourself here on the official ScrewAttack StyleGuide.
What? No, this isn't at all a shameless advertising plug to help boost my chances of winning the conveniently-announced contest for cool prizes from ScrewAttack. What gave you THAT idea? ^_^;
Alright, I am seeing on my wall and YouTube P3 guys are in this. Are they all in the same universe? I was under the thought that Persona was like Final Fantasy where they take place in different worlds.
Mostly not at all. The only one I can think of that could spoil the surprise is when you play as/vs. Teddie as one of his win poses is a huge spoiler.
Ok from the sound of it the story sounds worth playing through. So if I were to buy P4A and avoid the story mode and only play online the same time I am playing P4 would I be spoiling myself any story surprises from win quotes or anything like that?
I believe Atlus did a good enough job writing a story and overall fighting basis so that even players unfamiliar with either Persona 3 or Persona 4 will understand it. However in your situation, you will be missing out on a lot of backstory and references present in the game that makes it shine, such as the 'ProSwagonist', etc. If you just want to know the story, I suggest just watching a playthrough of the games over on Youtube.
In fact, let me help you with that...sort of: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0aAPQmE_Is
I want to play this but I never played the RPG. Is it worth blowing off the RPG or should I buy and beat it first?
I subed to you because of that little joke at end. :P
