Minecraft and Terraria Had a Baby in Space
Edge of Space is a 2D survival, exploration, terraforming, crafting, and building game. You can't let your guard down, or everything you've worked for will be lost!
Read all these comments talking about StarBound so I had to check it out. Looks pretty cool. I'll probably play it as long as it doesn't have crazy system requirements and my craptop can handle it.
A few things to note: 1) Edge of Space is still in beta, it isn't a finished product. 2) This is a genre, that means that more than one good game can and DOES exist in it, and the more of them there are, the more gamers win. It isn't "trying to be Starbound", it's trying to be Edge of Space, and succeeding quite well. It's holding a very strong rating on Desura, by people who have bought and played it. 3) Edge of Space is updating at a phenomenal rate. This trailer was done several months ago already, the game has changed drastically.
Please take the time to ask questions, and look into a game for what it is, before condemning it for being part of the 2D sandbox genre.
This game wants to be "StarBound" but is failing majestically... http://playstarbound.com/
Well, the music is pretty neat... but Starbound is already basically Terriaria 2 in Space, so I'll probably focus on getting that one when it comes out, but I won't completely ignore this one either. I love this crafting/building/exploring genre that's starting to get popular, I've yet to play one that I haven't enjoyed in some capacity.
Completely agree. Can't wait for Starbound to see release:)
Well, Terraria is considered the 2D minecraft, and this is considered Terraria in space. So I see a chain going. If this gets big and then theres a game like it but in 3d people would call it " the 3D edge in space!"
Seeing screen-shots from the game I recognize it. Isn't it the game made by former Re-Logic guys?
But yea, it looks awesome, at least much much better than this.
Look up the game Starbound, which is a work in development, and looks like just that, but has a lot of effort being put into it.
I seriously dont see Minecraft here.. Its Terraria in space. Which in itself could be pretty cool.
All seeing this does is make me anticipate the eventual release of Starbound much more.
Terraria in space. Leave minecraft out of this
