Monkey Island Meets Metal
Having never owned a PC as a kid, I've missed out on some big name titles, including the game this song is paying tribute to.
I love this dude! I swear there is probably very little he can't play on guitar. ROCK! \m/
Good, because otherwise his metal rendition of "Monkey Island" music ROCKED! I wonder if he would do "Maniac Mansion" as well?
Lol i see where you're coming from dude. here your fanboyism isn't too bad. i don't think Erock minds your criticism either.
Well you see, I grew up with those games and for me "Pirates of the Carebbean" felt like a bad "Monkey Island" fanfic (Johnny Depp's trying-too-hard-to-be-funny performance doesn't help) and I just don't want something I liked in my youth associated with a movie series I detest (for a whole plethora of reasons other than the aforementioned). But most of all, I was just really baffled and bemused by having this tune concluded by a soundtrack that has nothing to do with "Monkey Island" either than the fact it has pirates in it... just because it's popular. This is titled "Monkey Island Meets Metal" not "Monkey Island Meets Captain Assrow." Am I being a fanboy? Oh absolutely ;)
i don't know, i though it was nice. I can't blame him though.
true, he also did final fantasy meets metal, and i might post it, but it includes a medley of sephiroths theme, and really, it doesn't sound as good as the orchestral version. then again, his version was a medley of FF themes.
Won't lie, that was pretty cool. I still prefer the orchestral version though, like the one performed by Video Games Live a few weeks ago and accompanied by the original composers of the soundtrack
Yes it was fantastic, the intro, the SCUMM bar and LeChuck's theme... until you shoehorned "Pirates of the Carebbean" in it :(
That was great!
I approve of this, I'm getting a huge wave of nostalgia of Lucasarts best washing all over me musically
