Ohhh.... So THIS is how the Wii U's Online Nintendo Network, Miiverse and Internet will work
Still curious about how things work on the Wii U? Well so is everyone else. Nintendo is FINALLY here to explain something they should have explained months ago.
Tch. Took them long enough.
Yeah, the real goal behind my post was that I didn't want to be alone in this torture. :)
I'm willing to see how many of these games actually support these features, and how many people will actually use them.
The creepyness probably comes from beeing around someone who is alone.
HAHA, thanks for this. Now I can't either
Oh that reminds me, the box the young Japanese man brings in at the beginning of the video after some kind of delivery says "Mikan" on it. So I'm guessing it was an inside-joke/reference to that.
Then again, boxes with the words "Mikan" on it are very cliche in Japan. So it could have just been for that.
Or maybe both.
Well... the PS3 uses the term Users...
I like this video...but I can't look away from this guy's neck as he's talking. Is there some small creature he swallowed fighting to get out or something? I've never seen someone's neck move like that when they're talking before. lol
Well, this sounds like a completely different online experience than I was expecting. Super-streamlined and easy to stay in-tune with other players. It's way more interactive than I thought.
I wouldn't say he is creepy, but yeah emotionless he is. I'm not like that at all. I'd be jumping around cursing.
Am i the only one who noticed they just confirmed the return of giant world in New Super Mario Bros U?
So it looks like Nintendo is catching up with Sony and Microsoft with their network as a social network/DLC delivery vehicle, though I haven't seen any other Nintendo Direct video relating how they plan to use their network for online multiplayer (though I don't really play online muliplayer anyway). Has anyone at Nintendo clarified if they're making any changes to online multiplayer functionality?
I had the same reaction you did when I just saw him staring at the orange. As a side note related to Japan, the orange is a mandarin orange, a very common fruit in Japan during the winter. It's called a "mikan" in Japanese. They're really delicious! I want one now!
First, Iwata holding and staring at a bunch of bananas and now we have Bill holding and staring at an orange. What's next, Miyamoto holding and staring at a cantaloupe?
I love how he said it him self. "This isn't new content but shows how it works together". I know the joke is that we didn't get all the information but it kind of falls flat when we did.
You probably already are, but didn't realize it. Most gamers I know (including myself) are pretty quiet, and even when we need help, just turn on our browser and get it. There's no dramatic sketch or anything; it's just an accurate portrayal. Frankly, I'd rather have this than the guy who introduced us to "nondescript action figure".
It's become an in-joke at Nintendo. One of the more famous screenshots of Mr. Iwata is him staring at a bunch of bananas from one of the Nintendo Direct videos. He's parodying it.
Somebody has to make that random orange a thing.
That japanese gamer dude is kinda creepy and emotionless... I don't wanna turn into that guy when playing Wii U
If it works...I'm fine with it.
As for those who are complaining...maybe give it a try first before jumping to conclusions? I'm not even sure why there's complaining at all. There's no friend codes (finally) and by their (albeit vague) descriptions, it sounds like it'll work just like XBL or PSN. Log in, play game, done.
