Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale, First Impressions

Are "Super Attacks" (i.e. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE SMASH ATTACKS!) the only saving grace of this beta brawler? Ben and Bryan are both underwhelmed and confused.

Oh wait you're serious?

Kind of...name 35 sony-exclusive characters that would appeal to players. That's how many that Smash Bros. has on the Wii...I'd even knock it down to 30, since Nintendo used Sonic and Snake, and maybe the Fire Emblem characters.

Fat Princess is multiplatform... on the PS3 and PSP. It's a Sony exclusive. That being said, Bioshock is a fair point, but Snake and Sonic were also third party. *shrugs*

That's kind of the point though...they showed 8 characters and they already had to show a non-Sony one. I'm not against the third party stuff, but then I think the title should not say SONY All-Stars.

I find it REALLY strange to see the Big Daddy jumping so high and nimbly. Apparently that diving suit doesn't weigh any more than Mario's outfit.

The two main things that make Super Smash Bros. so great is its lovable and charismatic cast of characters and the extremely unique fighting gameplay (killing by punching people off of the screen). Sony Battle Royale lacks both of these. It'll probably fun, but it won't be anything I can play hours upon hours like I can with Super Smash Bros.

Agreed, but remaining hopeful that it is good so as to compete with Smash.

After having gotten used to stuff being a bit off of course (Kratos and Fat Princess in the same game for example)

The biggest problem I have with it though is that they haven't announced enough characters and haven't had epic assed trailers like Brawl did, at least to my knowledge.
