Ok, Solidus was an inferior clone who's only purpose was to surve as replacement parts for Big Boss. He didn't receive the training Big Boss had under The Boss relied on a power-suit and fancy swordplay. Yeah, his genes were perfectly balanced with the superior/inferior solder gene, but that doesn't mean squat without the proper training like Snake and Liquid.

Stoping Arsenal Gear was cool, but Raiden was augmented being a cyborg ninja, so it was more the suit then him.

His fight with Vamp was long and flashy despite Vamp being pumped full of tranquilizers before hand, and who was the one who let him have that little dance for that long while fighting off Gekkos.

The armless scene was cool to look at, but pointless in showing Raiden's fighting abilities, as again it was the suit that gave him the power to do so, not individual will power like Snake getting microwaved.

That's why he's a wimp, because without the ninja suit he will always be Rose's lap dog.
