Take a tour of Eorzea in this new trailer for Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn
It’s safe to say Final Fantasy XIV was disastrous for Square Enix not only financially but its less than stellar quality also delivered a rather damaging blow to the company’s reputation. However, Square still believes the game has the potential to be something special, despite all that’s happened. So, Square put a new development team together in order to rebuild the game from the ground up and after spending about two years in development, the release of Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborm is looming.

The game looks nice, and the music sounds good too. All I really need to see now is some gameplay features.

Here's a question, did they keep any of Nobou Uematsu's original soundtrack (besides the Prelude, obviously) because that name recognition was the ONLY THING the original had going for it.

We're still looking into it. However, I have to say, Masayoshi Soken is doing a fantastic job as sound director and composer for A Realm Reborn. Examples being Rise of the White Raven from the original game, and the mashup of Limsa Lominsa and La Noscea tracks that Soken had to beg the PR team to release onto the FFXIV YouTube channel. Seriously, give them a listen, they are really good.

I want to say they kept the soundtrack, but I don't really know for sure. If not, hopefully they had him redo it.

not only does it have to be a great game it has to be competely fucking mindblowing is they want it to be successful after ver1.

If Square Enix wanted me to play one of their MMO's they should have either made one before WoW was released or made it so the MMO took place in Ivalice (FF12 and Tactics)
The Void
they did, FFXI was out a full 2 years before WoW was and released in NA 1 year to several months depending on which system you would have preferred using(PS2 or PC)

I was confused for a second why some parts seemed to have frame problems, then I realized it was cutting between PC and PS3. Hope they get that sorted out for the PS3 version of the game.
And in other news, I'm kind of interested in getting this when it comes out.

Yoshi-P (Producer and Director of ARR) stated that the PS3 footage is about 75% optimized, and that they have Sony engineers helping them out building the PS3 version.
