While I liked Spirit Tracks for the most part, it is one of the lower ones. Still, I think that Phantom Hourglass and Link's Awakening are not as great comparatively. While the train system wasn't the best way, I still think it's better than Windwaker's.

Whereas most people debate between Ocarina of Time or Majora's Mask as being the best, I think it's safe to say that Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks was similar but in the opposite direction. Neither game was for me replayable; I actually replayed Phantom Hourglass because I had a strategy guide Nintendo Power sent to me when I subscribed to them back in...er, 2007? 08?

It's not exactly the touch-screen controls that I hate, but more like the central dungeon system in both games. Spirit Tracks however had some really, REALLY clever dungeons and item uses, far more than PH. But yeah, trains made the whole thing a big 'meh' to me, but in PH the 'meh' was definitely attributed with the fact that I was just not seeing anything new - it was just familiar puzzles that were slapped with touch screen gameplay.

I don't go back often to handheld Zeldas other than Link's Awakening and Minish Cap. I dunno, neither the DS ones or the Oracle games did anything for me...well the latter ones are cool, just a bit too tough for me.

As far as I'm concerned they all sucked after Link to the Past. Well, except for Windwaker I thought it was ok. For all the innovations of Ocarina and Majora's, I just didn't buy into all the hype and thought they were boring...and I really tried....I finished about 3/4's of Twilight Princess before I lost interest in it as well. The first 3 games were so perfect and I enjoyed the hell out of them so I don't know why it didn't carry over to later installments.

Well I think the pinnacle of the series was A Link to the Past (not only my favorite Zelda game but quite possibly my #1 of all time), but I wouldn't say they all sucked after it. Link's Awakening was awesome & my 2nd favorite Zelda game in the series. The Oracle games are also good (in my opinion a notch below Link's Awakening). Ocarina of Time is also good IMO but I don't think it's anywhere near the best Zelda. It's a game that I get bored of if I find myself replaying it too often which isn't the case for any of the 2D Zelda games. I really hated Majora's Mask when I first played it, but I've grown to like various things about that game. The time limit isn't as annoying to me as it once was, but I really don't like the Deku Link part of the game with Woodfall Swamp and I was very disappointed with the final battle against Majora's Mask. I started playing Twilight Princess but stopped & really need to return to it. I got up to the part where Link turns into a wolf & I have to say so far the pace has been very slow with the game dragging on. I wonder how long it takes until you get a sword in that game along with the traditional Link garb.

So for me, they didn't all suck after ALttP, but the 2D games were the pinnacle. And by that I mean the sprite-based 2D games. Zelda II sucked me into the series since it was the first one I played followed by the first game which I didn't like as much at the time. But within a year of playing them, I got copies of both games & love them to this day.

I wish Nintendo would go back to sprite based 16-bit Zelda games that don't have any of these weird characters introduced as of OoT (only Hylian characters & familiar enemies like Ganon, Link's shadow, and new enemies that are either Hylian, gods, monsters, phantoms, etc) with traditional Zelda-like names (not names like Vaati & whatever other weird ones as of late) for their older fans.

"Suck" may have been overexagerating a little they weren't awful. I guess I meant they "sucked" in comparison. I agree with most of what you said, thx for replying.

ummmm... no. Phantom hourglass is clearly worse. Temple of the ocean king was awful, just awful. Honestly I don't see how the train in spirit tracks was less interesting than the boat in phantom hourglass both of them are basically just drawing a path and defending you vehicle. the only real difference is that in phantom hourglass you jump and in spirit tracks you blow a horn. I found found the train even more engaging because of how I constantly had to change direction in order to avoid tankers. The dungeon design was better, the music was better, the atmosphere was better.I don't see how phantom hourglass is anywhere near as good as spirit tracks. Of course I did replay spirit tracks a year ago and I haven't touched phantom hourglass since 2008, so I might be missing something.

I agree with everything that's been said in this videos. This clearly is the most childish, un-opened and boring Zelda game ever. I did really enjoy Phantom Hourglass, but this one was like a toned down and bleached out version of the original DS game. Still waiting for an original Zelda title on the 3DS to buy this console. I hope that Nintendo hears our complaints and do not comes with Spirit Track part 2 ...
